Brag Your Rad–Whose the Best?
There is that great scene in Top Gun where Iceman asks Maverick, “So have you figured it out yet, whose the best?”
As the new update looms near, it seems like a good time to sit back and take stock of the fast and furious action on the Rad servers. Many have complained about a lack of wins/loss ratio and other stats. While changes may occur, at this writing there is ONLY ONE WAY to compare two Rad players. If you want to skip to the end, I reveal all:)
As a semi professional chess player, I’m used to ratings. In the chess world, everyone has a number. Now like age, it means little; I frequently beat players rated far above me, and unfortunately, lose to those far below.
Luckily there are several paths to chess glory, titles! Who doesn’t want to be an “expert”, better still a “master”–and of course, the super rare “grandmaster.” There are only a few grandmasters in the whole world, with millions of active players.
While you can earn these titles through raising your rating, you can also do so by beating a certain number of titled players, or by earning significant finishes in high level tournaments.
SO, in terms of Rad, here are some ways to earn your unofficial Rad title!
First, earn some mini titles:
Special Forces: Every soldier that you have that has achieved the rank of Master Sargent.
Tactician: Finish all achievements at Game Center. I did, but it took two accounts.
Field Marshal: Earn one of each soldier through multi victories. Check.
Academy Grad: Finish all the challenges with a perfect score. Honors if you didn’t cheat.
WMDealer: Earned if you’ve infected a human opponent with “St Elmo’s Fire,” which is Toxic, Molotov, Bees, and Concussion all at once. (Kate, Juan, Ivan, and Commander).
So drumroll, how do we compare. A tease is in the tutorial, “Don’t worry, your experience is saved after you reach level 40.” Unfortunately, the group experience number that you see after a match tops out at 229,300 points.
Luckily there is one number that continues to rise, and that is the experience of your commander. Sure you could add up all the exp of your soldiers, but this info is only available to you after a match, so you’d have to play every one, blah blah blah, a hassle. Your commander has been in every one of your battles though, so using 229.300 as a somewhat arbitrary guide, here are my proposed titles:
RAD Unofficial Titles:
Expert: Have reached level 40.
Master: Have reached the top group experience level of 229,300
Grandmaster: Your commander’s experience is at or above 229,300 OR make it to the finals of a major RAD Tournament.
So all you have to do to qualify for your unofficial title and its complimentary invisible certificate is post a screen shot in the comments of a post match experience screen showing your commanders “rating.”
By this matrix, the first two Grandmasters are Sandpuppy and Tinker. I am posting my experience screen now, so Ciakgb just squeaks in as the lowliest GM, with a rating of 231,190.
