BR-16

(Osm0sis) #1

I am pondering about doing a cobalt trade up for Skyhammer. But I don’t play with the BR-16 that frequently. If I get the Br-16 from the trade up-I gotta use it.( I have done so many cobalt trade ins and my whole cobalt collection is gone). Any tips for this burst-rifle?

try to stay mid range, its where burst fire weapons work best. If you do get stuck in close quarters dont spray, only take shots as the enemy crosses your sights. Also, the spread resets super fast so if you need to take super accurate shots wait a sec between bursts. Hope this helps

Always try to do headshots.
Headshots with a burst rifle are insane.
You’ll need to adjust yourself to hit that R key often as burst rifles are rather ammo demanding.
Other than that…pretty much what @PleasantWheat wrote.

just recently I started using ironsights in this game ^^

It works really well with BR16…

as welll you can play much more agressive with the br 16 .The spray will help you!!

dont be too aggressive, i am very often using crosshairs too
very good tactic is to lure an enemy, hide behind corner and when enemy is close to you
and just run at him with two burst in head

If you land all head shots, it’s almost as if it could be a sniper rifle.
Just track your enemy and try not to spam too much, although it works most of the time.

Treat both of the burst rifles like a shotgun. Only shoot when people cross your sites and do a lot of door strafing so that you can put out optimal damage while they barely have a chance to hit you. I truly love burst rifles these days because you can put somebody down in one single burst at quite a few ranges and if you had an M4 you most likely would have taken at least some damage in the exchange. Burst rifles can win so fast that the other guy sometimes doesn’t even have a chance to press the button once where if you had an M4 in that situation they probably would have had a small window to respond.

Also, I consider the burst rifles to be the absolute best in CQC. I know it’s commonly stated that they are bad or hard to use in CQC, and I’d agree somewhat with the latter, but if you don’t panic press your fire button and only fire when your crosshair is over somebody you’ll win out extremely often.

Birst rifles have very nice damage and should not be considered “long range weapons.” They are effective at every distance besides extreme long range provided you can line up someone’s head properly.

interesting; however there are two scenarios i can think of that burst rifles are quite poor in:

  • multiple enemies

  • gibing

I only find long range gibbing a chore with a burst rifle since you can’t put a 3 shot into the head or even the body consistently. However, when I’m close or medium it’s faster and leaves me less exposed as I can put a 3 round into a head which instantly downs every merc in the game.

Multiple enemies I don’t tend to have too much of an issue with in comparison to having an M4 in the same situation. I think the M4/timik/similar does let you sort of spam down a hallway easier though where you are less likely to get incidental damage with a burst rifle. So I get where you’re coming from. It just hasn’t been much of an issue for me personally. However, there is no multiple enemy situation where I would want a BR16 over a K121 which is why I doubt I’ll ever use the BR16 on Fragger.

I’m currently main-ing a Skyhammer with br16, s&w , explon, quick draw and chopper. I’m melting people :).

traded up for a gold skybro, has both ammo perks and quickslash, overall decent I think -_-

I traded in for my first cobalt and got the BR-16 on fragger. I was very disappointed at first because I never used it before( don’t like burst rifles) but since it’s cobalt I gave it a shot and oh boy that weapon ROCKS. You are so versatile at all ranges and if you land the head shots it does so much dmg. I think it’s kinda broken even. You will love it once you master it
