Bots, Humans, and Servers Oh My!

(jmanelson) #1

Hey guys, I had a few questions regarding consoles and player bases.

I have not yet bought the game but am thinking of doing so. I play PS3 and want to know about the player base.

Id like to get some responses from the community.

If you play a console, state which and tell me how easy it is for you to enter a full match (all players no bots, or mostly full).

Especially for PS3 are there many people playing online or are the servers empty. (all bots with 1 or 2 people)

Having been browsing the forums Ive read from many people on both sides. Some say finding a full match is rare and some say they find them every time.

I live in the USA on the west coast. (california)

Thanks a lot and I hoe to see ya in game here pretty soon.

On ps3 its very difficult to find full games.

I can’t blame it. Between the negative press, the negative talk from the console crowd, and the outage, I don’t think brink sold very well for ps3 at all :frowning:

Bump, Does anyone else feel the same way? do you find it easier?

Bump, Id Like to get some Answers Please. It is crucial to me purchasing what seems to be an awesome game. But I wont purchase only to play with bots.

Majority of the freeplay matches I play [on PS3] are 50/50, bot/human. Not bad really…

I got an Xbox and as right now they are working on a major patch to fix lag, they have reduced the number of human players to 8 which is working quite well for me, games aren’t locked to be 4v4 so getting a full team of humans is possible but difficult unless you got friends with the game, but I get around 6-4 people in my games and overall I like the game.

360 here,
laggy and never in a full match…
there is always bots.

The only times I have been in a lag free player capped game (2 times roughly) it was a blast.

They need to improve the Matchmaking system.

Thanks guys, Half and Half sounds reasonable especially when the PS3 gets that PC bot update.

Birthdays Coming Up at the end of the month and Im gonna be picking it up.

Also Keep in mind when the Free DLC comes out many of those brink players who pre ordered only to unfairly judge it because of early game bugs will come back to the game to find what a kick ass game it really is once the kinks have been worked out.

It’s impossible at the moment.

As a temporary lag remedy Splash Damage has limited the 16 player matches to 8 humans. So at most you’ll have 4v4 humans. Although this doesn’t mean each team will always have 4 humans. I had the pleasure of being in a 6v2 where me and the other guy were spawn camped for the entire 15 minutes on container city.

It was great fun…

Since the game was released i’ve never ever been in a match with 16 human players and no bots.

I was in a 5vs5 competitive match once. Absolutely no lag too.

I dont get the point of making the servers full of bots, i hate playng vs bots… if you had one team with 5 players and the other team with 6 players i supose 1 bot insnt that bad, but whats the point of having 14 bots and 2 humands…

I’m on PS3 as well, and there’s a solid enough player base to be sure of getting a few humans in any match you’re looking at. You should be fine, imo.
