Bored yet?

(BlueEmu) #21

Yes & No.
Playing with bots = SHOOT ME!
Playing with humans = SHOOT ME AGAIN I DARE YOU! (Get it?)
Game is great with friends, still waiting on that lobby system, and the removal of bots from online play hopefully.

(shadowmike) #22

I’m kinda bored. It’s still fun to play with friends at least.

Brink has 8 maps but there is a defensive team and an offensive team. So that adds to the replay value. In June you will have 10 maps and new levels to unlock. Also, most games ship with around 8-10 maps so to be fair, Brink falls in line with other games, right? Plus, each map has different objectives. You may be bored of the game though regardless. Perhaps its just not the game for you? Or you need to take a break for a little while maybe? Or find new people to play with.
Buffing
It’s so gimmick, it shouldn’t even be there…
How’s it a gimmick? It takes things in FPS games that are usually available for players to choose freely, like increased damage, kevlar armor, increased speed, etc. and changes it so they must be administered through player-to-player interactions, rather than simply applying them to your character from the start. There is nothing “gimmicky” about them - it changes a big aspect of the gameplay.

(DazTroyer) #25

I keep saying this, try freeplay - competitive mode. I get a full room, with no bots, almost every game.

(DazTroyer) #26

The only thing I find boring is the fact folk seem to vote for the same maps, it would of been better to have the game randomly pick them imo.

(Serotonergic) #27

If that map design wasn’t so attrociously terrible, people wouldn’t always be voting for the same maps.

(thrill11) #28

Thank You!!! Omg I dreamed of the day you said that.

All those actions are precisely not balanced…

That’s why games that are balanced offer different weapons with different specs and different body types instead. Otherwise, no competitive game should mess around weapon damage, player accuracy or health. Those stats must remain immutable.

Preach brother, Yo horse you mind hitting me up on the box, i would like to get into some full good action packed games now the lag has calmed down a lil.

(ComboDavid) #31

I got bored of this game after only a week of playing. I can’t believe I paid full price for this!

(wolfnemesis75) #32

Yup. A map called Founders Tower and another called The Lab. (I think it is called the Lab). That will add some new flavor. Plus some new abilities and weapons stuff. I am glad I had built up several characters so I will be able to try out the additional levels and abilities!

(Jak Swift) #33

So how did you get bored and not I?

The only answer is self taste, which you cant whine about, because thats life friend.

Um, a ton of other people have got bored with this game. This game is a flop whether you personally like it or not. Why try to deny the obvious? Trying to justify your wasted money perhaps?

(Conq) #35

I could go for some weapon balancing, I do get bored of using the Carb9 but otherwise I’m still having a blast. My wife really enjoys playing too which is a rarity since she sucks at shooters but she always comes in as best engineer which shows the game takes in all kinds.
This is purely an opinion.

W:ET launched with only 6 maps, and like Brink, had only one gamemode with different ways to play it (Campaign, Objective and Stopwatch.) TF2 also launched with only 6 maps, although it had 3 different gamemodes (CP, CTF, and TC)

The vanilla versions of these games (especially W:ET) granted me hundreds of hours worth of fun. I actually enjoyed W:ET so much, that it was the first game I played competitively in a league, and before that, I played RTCW, So save me the “only 8 maps = bored,” rhetoric. Just because you feel that way, doesn’t mean it is true.

Some of us (speaking for myself here) can play a game without all the bells and whistles of a plethora of maps and gamemodes and appreciate and enjoy what it has to offer.
8 Quality and balanced maps would be amazing. Just remember and though this is an opinion it’s probably a pretty popular one… TF2s release maps are way better than what we have currently in terms of balance and quality. Which greatly effects the replay value of them.I can’t comment on W:ET maps because I never played it. But I can also say the games that I did play at that time (ut2k3,ut2k4,quake) had more quality and balanced maps.

The most contributing factor for me is definitely the replayability of maps and they are simply lacking here.

(ComboDavid) #37

That’s actually one of the things that I find really annoying about this game - the scoreboard rewarding players who suck.

(its al bout security) #38

im on it almost 24/7 add me (lago coach) im not bad either

Which contemporary games are you talking about?

(xzen) #40

Ahhh didn’t know that was your GT, had a good few matches against you over the past couple of days. We sniped each other out a lot in that match on SecTow, fun times!
