ET Gamehosting has graciously provided WWGN a 16-person, private server (I believe this is located in New York City) that we’ve been using to run map test sessions. I thought I’d offer this resource to the community, with a couple of guidelines:
- Server will stay passworded and running etpro. It’s not intended to become a general pub server and the server admin doesn’t really have the time to change back and forth between game mods
- You organize and schedule the map test. This means you coordinate when the map needs to be up and get the word out to your testers
- Coordinate server availability through me. You can PM me here, post in the WWGN forums, or find me on IRC at #wwgn on irc.gamesurge.net
- I’ll get your map uploaded, change passwords, and give you the relevant IP and PWs for your test. I’ll leave the maps up for an evening or so, then take them off the server so that other test groups don’t have to download extra stuff.
- There is no fast redirect on the server, so part of your communications to testers should include a link from which they can download your map.
- At the risk of sounding extremely arrogant, I reserve the right to reject any map based in incompleteness, problems, general bias against escort maps, or anything else I can think of.
