BONESAW VS AURA

(cosmopolitanSponge) #1

who thinks is better?

(cosmopolitanSponge) #2

since I am a nice guy, I let it be private  but if you really want to tell me what you have voted for, go ahead

(einstyle) #3

kinda depends but overall Aura
although I prefer playing Sawbonez myself

(cosmopolitanSponge) #4

keep up the votes!

I was more of an Aura player until this beta. Sawbonez feels better to me because he’s more aggressive than Aura : you can receive quite strong hits without being near a healing station. The healing station is indeed very strong but you can only rely on it with aura and you have to camp it to have a chance. And therefore it’s an explosive magnet (for those who only saw fragger as a real threat for aura, you’ll have a nasty surprise next time  ). In short terms, sawbonez = freedom of movement.

Aura has the same primary available to her that Sawbonez has if you choose to use it. And health station is OP as hell. Aura wins easy.

(cosmopolitanSponge) #7

also give me a thumbs to let me know if you like this or you agree with this so then I can keep on doing more of this stuff! Not sure how this is insightful or lol, but still… lemme know!

Aura has shorty health, making her a quick risk if someone like a quake fan who is used to speed, she can suck when you think about it

(Reddeadcap) #9

I love sawbones due to practicality of his ability but I’ve seen too many auras who just have to drop their stations and dance around the thing in circles to survive almost all incoming damage.

(immenseWalnut) #10

And they will, as long as you direct all your outgoing damage at them instead of destroying their station. There are lots of people complaining about the fast healing regen, but almost everyone that complains about it makes it clear they tried to kill Aura through the healing instead of destroying the station first and then killing her.

(artfulSedan) #11

Aura has the healing station which prettymuch makes everyone inside invincible. seriously if more auras would use their ability more tactical attackers would nearly win everygame. compared to that medpack meh. Also aruas shotty is one of the most powerful weapons ingame atm and beats sawbones lousy carbine.

uhm dude that station take more hits than her. everytime i encounter an aura i shoot the staition and then get offed by her in the process because you basically have to kill 2 persons worth of HP (and one of them is a healer). encountering her alone feels like a 2 vs 1 and aslong you don’t have awesome dps she will probably win,

(i play proxy with SMG or shotty).

This this this, the station takes freaking forever to kill and the regen start-up time is almost instant.

Default Aura is too good already and I’m not even talking about +30% regen, +20% heal radius aura: that shit is straight out broken.

(B_Montiel) #14

As proxy, drop a mine on healing station and shoot it. Rain of body parts incomming. The best way to counter best aura’s ability are explosives. And that’s probably what makes her too easy to counter in my opinion. Any merc with explosive abilities can easily ruin the process of healing station cocktail party.

(Litego) #15

Aura, though I prefer to play sawbonez.

And yeah, you have to go for Aura in a 1v1 otherwise you’re fucked. Usually the station is placed somewhere that requires you to get close, and if you take the time there to shoot the station, Arua will kill you. So you better be on point with your aim and outshoot her healing. Sometimes it works out, other times it doesn’t. That, or you wait for a teammate to help out, which is probably wiser.

(neg0ne) #16

Both.
Sawbones for attacking and aura for defending.

PS: missing option

nah, it is either you choose the defensive quicky aura, or the slow offensive sawbones

Then you’re playing the wrong merc for the job. Proxy isn’t even a good choice for a 1v1 without a healing station unless you get the drop on your opponent (and by opponent I mean someone that can actually hit you without too much trouble). A better choice would be Fragger, use a grenade to take down the healing station (or as someone else suggested, drop a mine and manually detonate it). You could even hold position and wait for backup.

Proxy is good for completing or preventing objectives from being achieved (repairing the EV for example) and having Aura drop a healing station will keep you alive during. Given the fast TTK, there needs to be something to help keep players alive that are trying to complete objectives. Play the role for which your merc is suited, or play a merc better suited to the role you want to play.
