Overwatch looks interesting but I’m not sure it’s the kind of game I’d play for long. It’s certainly not on my must play list.
Blizzard's Overwatch Anyone?
You know when a Splash Damage dev said that Dirty Bomb probably shouldn’t be somebody’s first FPS? I’m sure that Overwatch could be somebody’s first FPS… And perhaps Dirty Bomb will be their second.
It’s like Team Fortress 2 and Dirty Bomb had a baby together, smashed his head on a lamp post and gave him whisky afterwards. And it achieves to seem more serious than those two. Most of the map design I’ve seen seems copied on famous cp_egypt map from tf2. Classes makes non sense to me with TPS abilities, which take an obvious inspiration on Smite. Typical recent Blizzard stuff oriented on casual gaming taking lots of good ideas in other competitors.
It feels as if Blizzard are just trying to dip their fingers in every metaphorical pie, I haven’t followed much about them (besides overwatch) and it seems as if they are just creating a game in every popular category like Hereos Of the Storm (which is pretty fun!).
I got to play it at blizzcon last year(going again this year) and it was a pretty sweet game. It was funny because while we were playing the power went out at the convention center and we were given another session to play even though our game was almost over. The first time we played it it was all my buddies and I vs a bunch of kids. We showed no mercy. We only had TDM so i can’t really say it was a MOBA for us. Hopefully this year they’ll have a lot more content
I’m excited to try Overwatch but not too hopeful, a lot of the characters seem to move painfully slow. Can’t wait to get Overwatch characters in Heroes of The Storm when it comes out, though.
