Blishlock Discussion (OP, Balanced or UP?)

(Fap Fap Master) #1

Blishlock is quite weak, i find it that other weapons outclass the Blishlock, so I was thinking of this change…
Decrease damage per shot
Increase ROF

Please if possible include comments about your POV on the weapon.

I just personally dislike the spread of the weapon. Though I try to tap fire it as much as possible. Decreasing the damage and increasing the RoF would just make it a K-121 with 25 less bullets per mag. It has it’s own identity right now and that change would remove it.

Give it more damage, done.

(Gi.Am) #4

It already has the highest full auto damage.

I think the Blishlok is pretty much balanced or atleast was, it might need a spread/recoil buff after pretty much every other gun had one, tho I guess if the stats of the blish are falling now, we propably get one. Outside of that it is/was a situational gun if you want consistence and reliability without working for it. Clearly the Blish is none of that. But on the other hand some people seem to swear by it, and with its high damage it can win fights very fast (despite the ROF) and is great for clean ups. If they do well with it I can accept that the gun might not be for me but is balanced.

I just can’t decide myself about this. Especially since the Crotzni nerf.

The Blishlok is one very wierd gun. It hits harder than any other auto weapon, but is also the slowest automatic weapon in the game. It clearly does not please everyone. I used to think that when I used it, if I kept it for too long, any other players would get the upper hand on me. Today that feeling did not totally disappeared yet, though I feel much more comfortable with my Blishlok when I have an Empire-9 and some Sticky Bombs with it. I was very surprised to hear that it was used in competitive and also was the second most precise hipfire SMG available.

I’m not against a buff though.

Honestly, I thought the Blish was pretty beast. It was my first new loadout and the gun just packed a punch and dropped so quickly. The slow RoF is so very noticeable - Almost felt like a bugged semi trying to go full.

After a while and reading guides and buying loadouts, I just don’t think it’s competitive enough. The Crotzni & KEK-10 are very strong and have great Merc / AUG / Loadouts (Nader, Bush & Saw). I’d probably go Rem-7 over Blish, unless AUG wise Blish had the better ones.

If they upped RoF or Damage, it’ll open up more options for sure!

It’s already got great damage output, and is fairly accurate, so I don’t really get the problem here.

If anything that could just buff the starting accuracy, and give the player more incentive for tap firing rather than spraying it.

It’s actually still the worst DPS SMG (not by a too large margin though), but on the other hand it has a lot of firepower in a single bullet.

I just got an idea : how about giving the Blishlok the Ahnuhld treatment ? Less falloff over distance ? As far as I know, at longer range, the Blishlok goes from 18 to 12 damage per bullet. Upping this a bit shouldn’t be a big deal right ?

(Conqelson) #9

Just needs a better dot, green blob is horrlbe. Otherwise, it’s prob the best smg in the game right now for the people that can use it.

(Verticules) #10

Better recticle is all it needs. I find that this SMG is best for my mid range game. I often find myself losing close range duels and I assume that is why it’s the only smg option for Aura and Fletcher. ( If you press W aggressive, use the shotgun.)

(AKULA) #11

it fires ridiculously slow and can’t take it’s advantage of having high damage per shot than k121

(Phukka) #12

Best gun? Hah. Crotzni & KEK-10, or even the Rem-7 are way and above the Blish.

(Mescman) #13

I voted balanced, but after thinking, if I had the choice, I’d take Kek/Crotzni over Blishlok any day. I guess I didn’t think this all the way through.

(ProfPlump) #14

This whole poll is problematic.

Not every gun in DB is supposed to be equal - the Blishlok is supposed to be a slightly lackluster SMG so that it can be given to Aura so that she is not as strong as, say, a Crotzini-wielding Nader in combat.

If we ‘balanced’ the Blishlok so that it had the exact combat effectiveness as the Crotzini/KEK-10, we would suddenly have an INCREDIBLY overpowered Aura.

(Phukka) #15

The game is considerably balanced towards higher ROF weapons, bigger clips, downside is less damage. Headshot damage is so vital that less damage really is not such a downside. Hitting consistent headshots is not that hard.

(Phukka) #16

So Sawbones?

(ttownjoe) #17

everyone please consider to call magazines “magazines” and not “clips”

(Fap Fap Master) #18

Please consider explaining the differences if you so want us to do so.

That does not make any sense.

Then why is Bishlock the starting gun for phantom that has access to 2 more better guns: Crotzni and KEK-10. Also it is primary for the Sawbones that has 2 more better smg in his dispersal.
Also Fletcher has Bishlock.

If some weapons are suppose to be underpowered then why even use them, why even add them to game. Well Bishlock isnt THAT bad but its bad compared to other primary smg.
Small buffs to make it bit more better would be increasing the fire rate slightly to 420 (from 400) and also reducing the aiming recoil by slight ammouth would be good change.

Also, every weapon is OP in the right hands…

(Eox) #20

I finally changed my mind. Voted UP. A buff would be very nice.

We could raise the RPM a bit, raise the max falloff damage and/or reduce the recoil a bit.
