Bleak Chic cancelled!

(Your worst knifemare.) #241

I would love to have one of those special cards for sparks or pheonix
The same old RNG bullshit in this is sour, but the rest of the event will be enough to encourage me to play to get the trinkets and such. Any event cases I get will just be a nice side effect. Which is a shame. I guess we haven’t had all of our announcements yet, but really, they should be adding in event cases you can just buy to avoid the whole 1% RNG - instead I imagine they’ll just make elite cases ALSO have an RNG chance for event cards as usual. Hoping to be wrong.

Overall the event does have a nice cool factor, pretty well executed and a constant drip of info in the time leading up to it - really nicely done on that, the team is clearly learning from the past events at least.
God forbid they try and make things fair and give people an insentive to spend money if they so choose.

(kaMMakaZZi9) #243

I’m mad the humble wasn’t in December. I played this game a lot and still do since February 18 - 200 steam hours.

I would’ve gotten all 3 Christmas trinkets

;(

(Backuplight) #244

Exactly how is it “not fair” to sell the cases, which still have a whole chunk of RNG inside?

(Reddeadcap) #245
Well you can earn cycles by spending credits too. So I wonder if I buy Aimee right away with 50,000 credits, how many cycles that is?

Maybe 10,000 credits spent = 1 cycle so I’d get 5.

Let’s say a special cases cost 1 cycle? Who knows…
The Cycles are in the couple thousands, hence my 1 Credit = 1 Cycle theory, Just hoping the conversion is fair and the prices for everything are reasonable.

So even if it is say, 10 Cycles = 500 credits or something around the lines, so long as the price for everything isn’t going to cost us an arm an a leg to get I’ll be happy.

She’s hacking, they’re Hacking Cycles in multiple systems/servers my guess is we the player not the mercs are meant to be helping her with the mercs doing the dirty work, in this case we’re being paid in ways to help Aimee out to finish more Cycles in systems rather than Credits by the CDA/Jackal, rather than cash to hire/supply the mercs.

 1. Crack to enter the system
 2. Escalate for higher privileges like that of an admin.
 3. Execute, in this case Aimee’s executing applications to figure out who the culprit was.
 4. Hide Files, Codes, Tools, etc.
 5. Cover Tracks.

@AnonOmis1000
Even if they’re meant to be rare, the way to get a loadout for this event are insanely stacked against you and if you want a specific loadout for a specific merc it looks downright impossible.

The only thing that separates this from WTD and CW events is that right off the bat they’re announcing that guaranteed skins drop for each week and that players wont have to spend 60+ hours to get the weapon tags, but one has to wonder what the currency exchange on credits to cycles will be and if the exchange is fair for the price on items.

First it looks like regular cases will keep dropping.
You’ll need to buy a stack of 10 keys for that to be swapped entirely for Suspect Cases, stacks of an item with a price we don’t know for a currency exchange we also don’t know.

That’s a 2% Chance to get a suspect loadout, with 4 suspects per week, each with 9 loadouts each, some of which are objectively better than others, but hey at least it’s 4 suspects a week, not all 16.

Second there is Rare and Pray to RNGesus on a Tuesday, hopping on one leg while reciting the alphabet backwards in a language you don’t even know, while the equinox is upon us rare…
Rare CW and Rare WTD cases were the latter.

like I said earlier, for the trinkets at least we don’t need to pay a specific amount of time to but instead have to pay a specific Cycles amount for the Trinkets, the ones who are ahead are obviously the ones with boosters or saving up, but like I said earlier, we don’t know the currency exchange or prices, so even if we don’t have to spend exactly 70 hours on hour computers to gain trinkets, the price might be the equivalent.

(BananaSlug) #246

Or “baguettes”.
all the jokes about aimee and France xD

(MarsRover) #247

The event lasts 5 weeks. Doing 1 set of missions plus all bonuses gets you ~5k daily. That’s 175k. I’m guessing it will be enough to get the culprit case and all 3 trinkets, but not much else.

Or “baguettes”.
all the jokes about aimee and France xD
Yeah, now that LOLs are counted correctly gotta use any means necessary to get those internet points

(DB Genome editor) #248

@Redcap you still seem confused about the cases. They revealed 3 types, 2 of which follow exactly the same concept as in previous events:

Suspect Equipment Cases:
[] 1% chance of dropping a Suspect loadout card, otherwise probably identical to regular Equipment Cases.
[
] Can be bought with cycles, but I would guess they might also replace regular after-match Equipment Cases drops during the event (just a guess though…).
Suspect Event Cases:
[] Guaranteed to contain a Suspect loadout card
[
] Small chance of dropping after a match, odds can be bumped up by Drop Boosters (yes, the Drop Boosters description says “Suspect event case drop”, not the Equipment version)

A full stack of Drop Boosters give you the same odds of dropping a Suspect event case after a match as common Equipment cases normally have (typically one every few matches)
Culprit Case:

 • Guaranteed to contain a Culprit loadout card (actual skin still undisclosed)
 • Can only buy 1 with cycles

Okay, so everything is the same as it was during WTD and CW, except there are culprit cases which are based on the free rotations during the ReV event, right?

(MarsRover) #250

I hope that rotation schedule and the prices for everything, including the culprit case, will be disclosed on day 1. This will allow us to plan our spending.

Those boosters are “per-week” (= need to buy them again for each rotation) or for the whole event?

(Borganism) #251

What’s lame about them making a reason to continue playing?
it was lame because you needed to choose between your family and Christmas or dirty bomb
With my family it was a pretty easy decision to make

On the event though, I think they’ve planned this one pretty well. Will have to wait to see for execution of the plan. The increased drop rate to 1% for plain cases, the guaranteed case from the start with boosters to increase the drop rate up to a regular drop rate. Trinkets for those that want them. All looks good to my eyes.

On a side note, Im happy with my arty trinket so Im likely going to put all my cycles into cases for sweet skins. Does anyone know if you earn or purchase the trinkets though?

(Reddeadcap) #252

@Djiesse
I see now, Case Boosters (Stacking to 10 for a 100%) means the higher chance of Suspect Equipment Cases becoming Suspect Event Cases when they drop, Didn’t pay much attention to their naming and assumed that the keys were to make regular cases into S. Equipment Cases and that Event Cases would be the one in a million drop.

All’s left to figure out is the currency exchange from Credits to Cycles which I’m assuming is a 1 Credit to 1 Cycle and if the pricing wont translate to 16 hours a day to get a single trinket… that and that we don’t end up getting the least liked loadouts.

Thank you so much for the clarification.

@Boerhae we can all just buy one Culprit Case which will be for the most used Merc of Week five, which is consisted of the most used Mercs of week one through 4.

(EverythingElse) #253

Do we know how much a booster will cost?

(GildedDark) #254

(MarsRover) #255

5+1 instead of 10+1. At this rate we well be able to buy single event cases somewhere in 2018

(kaMMakaZZi9) #256

Spending credits also gives you cycles. If I buy Aimee right away I wonder how many cycles I’d get?

(FerfyDerf) #257

I’m starting to fear I misread entirely, but I thought I’d found some people rejoicing about the culprit case, stating you’d be getting all loadouts with the skin for the culprit. Sounded too good to be true, but I reread and still got the same message.

I knew it was too good to be true. Splash Damage would never be that cool.

(MarsRover) #258

Please don’t be Vassili, please don’t be Vassili…

It would be cool if SD made a poll to let us choose which loadout we want.

Edit:
Just to clarify - this is an Obsidian for the culprit, not Aimee.

(AnimeDude) #259

So aimee doesn’t get any cool skins for this event?

(what if pheonix is the culprit?)

(FireWorks) #260

EDIT: Possibly misinterpreted your post.

Yep, it would be cool to chose the loadout personally.
