So hope that your favourite merc(s) are up in the last week so you can blow all your cycles at once, or be prepared to throw away your social life in the first week.
Bleak Chic cancelled!
@Matsuno
I was right again, they are cases! (At least one of them is)
It’s a shame that a suspect skin is only a 1% of dropping though, better than 0.3% I guess…
It seams to be replacing regular equipment cases and will drop regularly with a decent Cycles cost on week 5 I wouldn’t see what the problem is, besides it just being a 1% of a One in Four chance of it being the merc you want and in some cases a One in Nine of it being a good loadout.
“On the 5th week, all 4 cases will be available with Cycles”
On week five we get to choose from previous week’s suspects rather than a unique one week drop for them, with Culprit being the “grand prize”, a unique skin for the most used merc of week five, who’s mercs will consist of the most used mercs of weeks one through five.
The next icon has to be without a doubt Elite Suspect Cases or something like that, with a higher chance but worth real money.
I won’t be using real money, but I’m sure this is a dumb question: will regular case drops I’m saving now be turned into event cases? Or will they remain regular? And should I wait for Aimee to be released to potentially get an Aimee loadout in cases I already own?

@Redcap Not a case but something a little cooler
Theses are the cases
Interesting, So we’ll be paying for boosters to get a higher chance of receiving a case that has a 1% chance of dropping a unique skin with each weeks being a 1 in 4 chance of it being a merc you like (Personally just dislike Kira and Fletcher), with it being a 1 in 9 chance of it being a loadout you’ll like, once again depending as some mercs have a collection of viable loadouts, others just three, others just a single viable one.
GG Splash Damage… the grind is real, why isn’t trading a thing still?
I just hope the conversion from Credits to Cycles and that the Cycle price for everything isn’t insane that one will need to play at least 12 hours a day to have a fighting chance at getting at least a single trinket.
That’s some RNG inception shit right there. RNG within RNG within RNG.
@kaMMakaZZi9 they will remain regular cases. As for waiting to open them for an Aimee loadout, there really isn’t a point. You’re likely to get lead or iron. Just trade up for them. But AFAIK the contents of the case are determined on their opening, not before.
@Redcap correct me if I’m wrong but arn’t the event cases the guaranteed ones?
So ud be paying to get a higher chance at a guaranteed skin
@Redcap correct me if I’m wrong but arn’t the event cases the gauranted ones?
So you’d be paying to get a higher chance at a guaranted skin
By the sound of the cases themselves and the link you posted.
Buy Drop Booster = More chance of getting a Suspect Cases, Suspect Case has a 1% chance of being a Suspect Loadout, which is based on the 4 suspects of the week, with the only guaranteed case being the Culprit, who will be a single loadout out of the 9 available to the most used merc in week 5, which cosists of the most used mercs of week 1 through 4.
Edit: My mistake, there still are Those Rare Suspect Cases with a guaranteed Suspect Loadout drop after matches though, Just hope it isn’t like a What The Dickens and Containment War chance of dropping, those were insanely rare.
‘Drop Boosters’ are also available to increase your chances of getting ‘Event Cases’. And yes, they do stack
But the guaranteed cases are called suspect event cases and the key increases the chance of an event case
That is what has me worried, I Really hope it’s a 1 Credit = 1 Cycle conversion on this event so we can get a better understanding of the time it’ll take per mission, gameplay, etc.
This might just be because I haven’t been playing a lot lately and just waiting for an actual update that’ll make a merc I bought actually viable and another actually stealthy.
but I really hope It’s not something insane like 30k-50k credits worth for each trinket, 150k credits worth to get the Culprit Case and like 2k for each booster.
@Redcap I do have to say now that I look both pictures @GildedDark posted, it indeed seems boosters increase guaranteed case drops instead.
Least SD & Nexon combo has learned something from last events. Still heck of a grind, but least you can buy increased chance for happiness now I guess. Loadouts can still be utter crap with the current system we have but oh well, never gonna get rid of that by the looks of it, dragging down the entire game until the very end.
Hope event has something else (like actually sensible tuning & bugfixes) coming up alongside Aimee & RNG as I’m starting to regret my previous defence speech for the devs earlier in other thread.
Kudos for them for the ARG too though
I almost just want to buy the remaining mercs I need and not spent money on this event. I’ll take what I get from the cases (and culprit case as the only thing I get).

The wording doesn’t specify Rare Suspect Cases, just Suspect Cases, that’s why I’m skeptical that we’ll still have regular cases dropping.
The wording for boosters sounds like they’ll have a of having Equipment Cases be Suspect Cases instead, with the 1% Chance of being a Suspect loadout of that week.
Rare Suspect Cases will be dropping after matches rarely, which to might mean never if they’re like Containment War and What The Dickens, but at least this isn’t coming during a season where one would spend with family and friends so one’s activity might be more common, work and school being the main reason.
What really has me curious is the Credits to Cycles Change, hoping that It’ll stay the same or that the amount of Cycles one gets will be higher than Credits for the duration of the event along with hoping that the prices for items wont be insanely high, but then gain I haven’t been playing a lot lately.
Well you can earn cycles by spending credits too. So I wonder if I buy Aimee right away with 50,000 credits, how many cycles that is?
Maybe 10,000 credits spent = 1 cycle so I’d get 5.
Let’s say a special cases cost 1 cycle? Who knows…
Can we take a moment and ponder why the new currency is called “cycles”? It doesn’t really make sense to me. Why not “crystals” or “keys” or “chips”?
i am going to say: fuck aimme she can wait!
ant are the trinkets going to be available for cycles or money?
The same old RNG bullshit in this is sour, but the rest of the event will be enough to encourage me to play to get the trinkets and such. Any event cases I get will just be a nice side effect. Which is a shame. I guess we haven’t had all of our announcements yet, but really, they should be adding in event cases you can just buy to avoid the whole 1% RNG - instead I imagine they’ll just make elite cases ALSO have an RNG chance for event cards as usual. Hoping to be wrong.
Overall the event does have a nice cool factor, pretty well executed and a constant drip of info in the time leading up to it - really nicely done on that, the team is clearly learning from the past events at least.
