Blackened Textures

With each subsequent update this game got laggier and laggier for me (while initially running very smooth). I figured the updates must be resetting my video settings to something less than optimal (ping is around 30, so that’s not it), and decided to check. There were actually quite a few settings I couldn’t remember having enabled, so I decided to just turn everthing off to check maximum performance.

Bad idea: even after a reboot (of both game and machine) the textures all turned black, making the game unplayable. I therefore decided to reïnstall the entire game after deleting any remaining DB folders manually. After reïnstalling, the settings were back to how they were, before I lowered them, but the blackened textures remain. I played some other (more demanding) games, to see whether any hardware was fried (even though it’s not even hlaf a year old), but those games ran just fine.

Does anyone know what is going on here, and how it might possibly be fixed?

Ok, I managed to “fix” the issue by turning every setting on and off again. Now the game looks like this though:

Instead of blacked textures, I got whitened textures (or rather excessively oversaturated textures). I tried running the game with AMD Crimson Shader caching turned on, off, or set on auto, but this also makes no difference.

It’s quite funny actually, and I think this proves it’s not a hardware issue, but evidently I still need a fix, as the game is still unplayable like this.

Lol, I found out what was causing it: gamma settings.

Should have figured that out sooner, but I never touched the slider, so it made no sense for it to be altered.
