Black Map

(Konigstiger) #1

the intire map is pitch black and i dont know why… im guess its the sky but i have no idea

-light is not selected and if it is its the same results

Try using a sky texture that has a white line around it in the texture view, cause that means it has a shader file

ok, my map has light now… but now when ever i look at the sky i get the HOM effect

which skies work and which dont?

oh yeah and also my cumputer crashes when i try to access the limbo menu… its never done this before… it was working fine before i changed the sky

any ideas?

:bump: + :bump: = annoying.

All of the skies used in the SD maps work.

:banghead: = sorry

i had to bump it twice

oh yeah would that be the same for liquids?

thanks

Bumping a thread within 1 hour - be patient FFS!

Right here goes the same adice i’ve given 3rd time this week -

When you load a set of texures - you will see them in the texture window - now then - if the texture u want is to do something special like be a sky, liquid or be transparent - for example, you have to use textures which have white outlines

the white outline means its has a script associated with it - aka a shader file

If it does not have a white line (shader file attached) it will simply tile that 1 texture over the brush you have selected

  1. oh yeah would that be the same for liquids?

what i ment was, theres to files named “liquids” but one has “SD” infront of it. What i wanted to know is that dose the sd_liquids also not work like the sd_skies

Meant to say day - not hour

  • Check posts numbers 25545 & 25745 - they are above Chavo’s post You will find they are identical posts with times of 3:46am + 7:06pm

And to your question - after wading thru some very weird english i think the answer is:

the liquids_sd and skies_sd are just folders in the texture directory of Splash Damage’s own textures - they work based on the shadre files each texture has - which will have a shader file of same name.
