You know, back then, when miners couldn’t rely on the virtues of modern day technolgy and sensors, they had to carry a Canary-bird with them when they went down into the mine, since that little bird was much more sensetive to toxic gases, than the average human, and would die, or, at least, react in some odd way, if the gas concentration in the air would be too high, and, as a result, warn the miners of said gas.
Sometimes I feel like such a miner’s Canary, when playing DB:wink:
Yesterday night I played a couple rounds of DB and it was quite fun, my team and me won most of the matches and even my k/d was acceptable; under the bottom line, a very satisfactory FPS session. But what kinda annoyed me(as it allways does) were the flashbangs. Not from a gameplay POV, but for the physical effect they have on the real-life me. No, it’s not one of those Frost/headache threads again, since overall I felt pretty fine, but for the duration of the flash and a few secs afterwards it felt like…well, like being flashed feels.
Looong story short; I understand and appreciate the existance of FBs in FPS games and I’d never ever suggest to get rid of them, BUT what I do suggest is, that one should be able to select between a black flash and a “traditional” white flash, in the options menu. I mean the flash is suppossed to work on a pure gameplay level, not on a real-life, physical stun level, or isn’t it?. It’s about obscuring the players ingame sight, and not about frying the real-life player’s retina away.

Your suggestion sounds good I might even try using it since I play in a dark area.
