Binding abilities

(.FROST.) #1

It would be great if we could bind specific abilities, and not just certain ability slots, to a specific key or mouse button. For example; I’d like to have the turret on the same MB like my drone-strike-beacon-thing, but that’s obviously not possible, since they use different ability slots. I liked it like it was in Brink; you could bind every class specific ability seperately from the other classes abilities.

PS: I’d really call this a must tbh.

I concur! Good suggestion.

ETQW was good because you could create class specific configs using context binds, given that DB is going to be f2p I’m not expecting much to be geared towards config only and they probably want as much stuff as possible done via the in-game UI.

(.FROST.) #4

But that would only be a bad thing, if the options/binding menu would be too limited and not sufficient enough. I don’t see where it would be a problem to bind every single ability to your convenience; at least not from a technical standpoint. But maybe SD didn’t saw a need for that, or they are allready working on extending the different option menus.

Well I guess its up to SD if they want to add context sensitive bindings at this stage (early I know but no idea what’s involved). I still think they’re going to want as much access via the UI as possible, even if that means having separate sections for class within the binds section.

I still want hold breath and sprint to have separate keys. Ever tried holding your breath while sprinting? Exactly

(.FROST.) #7

Exactly what I’d like to see, you not?

(DarkangelUK) #8

Definitely, the more options the better. I had my PC hat on and assumed via config file.

Oh missed this thread somehow. Character context binding is what is needed.

Wow, very cool, you found it  To say I’m impressed would be quite an understatement

I just followed stealth6’s link :o

(Kl3ppy) #12

thx shoggeh

I want character context binding too. I use this very excessive in ETQW.

Well I though the same thing about binding but I didn’t started a post like this because I asumed they’ll allow us to do that in the final version. I mean I can’t imagine the final game without it.
