Biggest issue

The reason I know many of my friends have left DB is that the team balance is a complete joke. I don’t mean merc or weapon balance, but player skill and rage quitting make the teams easily unbalanced with no one willing to shuffle teams. Your team takes a few minutes to repair the EV, people start leaving, the teams get more unbalanced, spawn camping starts, and it’s fun for neither side.

Is there anything that is being done about this?

I use to play Ghost Recon Phantoms before it was overrun by a horrible community and other severe balance issues, and one feature that I really liked was a bonus to credits earned for not leaving a match early. I think at the very least DB could implement that, with either a very small booster to xp or credits, to give an incentive to at least stay in a match instead of rage quitting. There’s plenty of ideas out there, and I think the devs should at least implement something that fixes this huge issue before they lose a large portion of their player base.

What is everyone else’s input on what could be done?

Yes.
Does it work?
No.

I made threads about an automated balance in pub matches for a long time with various suggestions that will, if stomps happen, minimize if not completely destroy them.
I gave up. Basically we have 3 mods who browse here and without trying to be mean (I have no idea about what 2 of them are doing since I don’t chat with them. They might be doing the same or different work) I know that one mod is trying to forward good suggestions to SD. Sadly anything is under NDA at this point, and we have no idea what SD likes, accepts, want to implement, dislikes or refuses.
And we have one CM. And again here, I don’t want to sound mean, or say she’s not doing a good work, since I have no actual clue, but just from my POV it looks like the CM isn’t browsing a majority of threads which speak about issues like Phantom, Balance, Jump-shooting actively.
And just my humbe opinion, but it seems that many suggestions are simply ignored by Nexon and SD here since people create threads about the same issue for moths, and nothing happens. Best Example are Phantom and Balance issues threads.

I don’t know how hard is it to implement it, but seriously, auto balance should be there from the start (or at least from open beta).
And I’m giving up on complaining about ranked balance, because there is just no point.
SD seriously needs more devs, because with this speed, we might leave open beta in 2020.

Priorities are the real issue. I understand that they need to make money, and more mercs = more chances for a player to shell out $5, but after releasing Aimee and Turtle, they really need to work on the BASIC mechanics of the game. Variety isn’t whats going to make or break the game, it’s the actual gameplay, and as it is right now, they won’t last long. I have a budget of about $30/month for gaming, and I would love to spend it on DB, but with the balance issues where it’s at right now, I’d rather invest in a game that’s not a gamble on whether I’m going to have fun or not on.

This is a great game, don’t get me wrong, I have invested more hours into it than any other FPS I’ve played, but it still needs a lot of work. The point of open beta should be for the devs to listen to the majority of the community and make it to how they would like it (within reason of course) so that the game survives long enough to become profitable. That’s just my opinion though of course.
