Between Games?

(Achtung) #1

Man I wish I could get my upgrades between games for levelling, and change characters if i wish.

I dont need any body changing or anything, just let me upgrade my character or change characters so i dont have to log out and then not be able to get back in to the same server.

seconded!!

When the new abilities pop up on the screen it would be nice to be able to choose the upgrades as part of the between match menu, as long as its done within a set countdown timer. That way you don’t have to leave to use the ability points.

Thirded…or Fourthed if wolf already bagged it.

(BiigDaddyDellta) #5

completely agreed, but I don’t believe they can change the mechanics of the game.

(FrankieGodskin) #6

Been saying this since Day One.

(wolfnemesis75) #7

Everybody been saying this since Day One. I think SD know.

(FireWorks) #8

and they seem to say its a conscious design decision that wont be changed too soon.

(Achtung) #9

Well what sux is when theres only a couple good low ping servers and they fill up so fast u cant just leave and come back usually, so its something I believe is really needed.

(RabidAnubis) #10

I believe you wolf! Send them a message!

(R_Shackelford) #11

It would definitely be nice, but aside from actually having to select skills, I’ve found that if I drop out as soon as the map vote is done, I can swap to an appropriate character and jump back in before the slot fills.

(Achtung) #12

Ive seen mostly posts on changing body size during matches really. But I could have easily missed a post similar to this.

Originally I had my chars set up by class and size, but found its useless. If i want to change chars, I can just as easily change my body type and weapons too as it is now. But when i had my chars set as the class and body type, it woulda been great to just swap chars between matches.

And as i mentioned before, abilities when unlocking points. I mean really. I already know where i will spend that damn thing!

amen!!!

I agree with OP. Seems a very strange design decision!

(Stormchild) #15

Agreed with OP, and have always yearned for more characters / bodytypes switching possibilities without going all the way back to the character selection.

(Starting the game with character selection page, I don’t like that very much : you can’t even quit the game if you haven’t selected a character, if I recall properly… this is not the best UI flow I’ve seen)

ALT+F4 fixes it, though the UI is really weak:/

(Achtung) #17

You can just press Esc. on PC to quit at the char select screen.

(1111) #18

People don’t like to quit to the menu to add some abilities because then you have to join the lobby again.

What I think is weird is when you receive an Appearance Unlocked Pop-Up when you gain a new level, when I’ve unlocked all the items already.
I’ve got several Lvl. 20 Charachtars already, so I don’t unlock anything anymore, still it says Appearance Unlocked instead of Ability Point Unlocked.

(Stormchild) #20

True, but I was more talking about how it is presented. It’s a bit like logging-in in a MMO before you can do anything.

So it means the basic “context” is the character, and I think it’s a design choice I am not a huge fan of, it’s too much rpg-like IMO.
