Black Ops has a memory leak… When I only had 4gb ram it would crash to desktop citing system memory too low. Now that I have 8gb it’s fine but when I close down after playing for 30 mins it has 5.6gb ram in use in the “modified” classification - not allocated to any programs/processes. CRAP.
Where’d I put that self-entitlement gif? Anyone else notice a pattern with the threads the OP starts?

It’s random. On the mrs’ pc it’s fine, but on my pc it’s leaking memory. Poor coding.
When I close the program there’s still used but unallocated memory. If I sit there and do nothing and watch the system resources window it gives me memory back at the staggering rate of 1-2mb/second. So I have to reboot.
Sorry going way off topic. The point I was trying to make to the OP was BLOPS isn’t a great yardstick to measure against.

Your graphics card could be overheating. Turn settings down if it is not. My card has 512MB memory and I notice with textures in new games very-high vs high (or high vs medium) is like a -/+ 30fps difference. I set only the textures a notch lower and leave everything else and it instantly improves.
