Beta Testers?
They wont have a beta, they like to make **** games like Brink and Quakewars ( glitchy ) as can be… Instead of Beta testing it, then releasing after correctly patching and updating the game before release. ET was decent, but even it was not up to par with RTCW. It was dumb downed for bad gamers. Only Valve makes decent video games anymore with a learning curve.

TF 2 was way better than ET

The game was more faster paced
Took way more teamwork
Maps were way more balanced
Rockets in mid air took way more skill than aiming a gun in burst via hip
There is no revive, only a respawn

I was Cevo-P in TF2 and Cal-invite in ET so yes, I was experienced in both games. However, dropping 40 kills in ET, using panzers ( LOL ) satchels ( LOL ) mines ( LOL ) take less skill than hitting Mid Air rockets, or killing uber heavies controlling flag points, controlling “map items” in ( TF 2 )

Unless you played a game at a high level, than your opinion is irrelevant because you dont even know what to look at in game other than

Install
hold mouse 1
press forward or go prone… just like your typical xbox gamer.
That kind of attitude will get you far in life…

Can I sign up for alpha testing? So people don’t need to beta test.

(Runeforce) #24

Sajn me up 4 dat beta 2

(Aristotle) #25

A beta would be interesting, I agree.

(Dthy) #26

i cn beta tset pls

(murka) #27

If you do a beta please include me.
I have tinkered with games since w:et and tried modding/mapping so i like to go deep in my games.
I also like to spend long hours doing writeups on my findings.

I heard that if you put on red shoes and click your heels together 3 times and say “There’s no bomb like a dirty one” 3 times, you will be met by a Tapir who will present you with a golden ticket. On this golden ticket there is a beta key.

Worth a try.
If there is, I hope you have to meet the following criteria:

1: Scottish
2: Over 4000 posts
3: Joined before Aug 2003
4: Have ‘UK’ in your name
5: Like battered Mars bars
You will play solo then

Good thing I’m already wearing my red high heels so that I don’t have to find them to try this out.

i just flushed down the toilet an enormous dörrrty bomb.

(Runeforce) #32

We’ll skip testing of that one.

(BioSnark) #33

…but your local security officials may want to have a word with you.

As Bob has already mentioned, I would also like to see and potentially be involved in the beta/QA testing environment for this game. I was involved in both closed and open beta for ET:QW, in addition to many other games either in a QA, alpha, beta or a combination of all three testing environment including giving valuable input. This game, upon initial appearance, seems to be geared around a competitive environment that if done correctly could potentially give the competitive team-based FPS community a much needed ‘re-boot’.

Looking forward to what the future brings with Dirty Bomb.

I can test this game. Since I was playing online Q2, Q3, RTCW, CS, ETQW, QL, I can understand some special things in FPS (at least I know that there is some kind of shooting to bad guys,no?).

Ah, and crazy Siberian ping (100-180) attached!

But, to be honest, Im not sure there will be some kind of “closed beta for 4000 msgs guys”, If its f2p may be there will be open beta with incoming updates, and so on.

(zivs) #36

Looking forward to beta phase!

(DarkangelUK) #37

I wonder how far along they are in development. I’m sure I read that they started working on Brink two weeks after they released ETQW, wonder if it’s the same for Dirty Bomb. Of course it’s on a new engine now so it’s hard to work out how far along they could be at this point, but regardless, if they need stuff tested then i’ll do it… please?

(Ruben0s) #38

On one of their employees linkedin page it says they started working on this game at June 2011.
So that is 18 months already and exactly after Brink got released.

Also note that time involves lot of preliminary design work and planning, I guess they had to do lot of research into unreal engine and come up with a new work flow and structure the studio around that all before they even start building the actual game they decided to make. Also establishing WarChest and FireTeam would be included there, making the move from Bethesda to self publishing wouldn’t just have happened over night.

Beta is the best way to start a F2P !

 • Better community feedback
 • Free Promotion by players if the game deserve it !
