Beta Feedback on bugs/tooltips/in-game-ui

(Gearbox) #1

So I’ve got some bug/tooltip/ui feedback for SD. I’m not trolling or flaming, just noting some things that seem off.

  1. Kevlar Vest on Soldiers doesn’t seem to work. Engineers can still give out Kevlar to soldiers with this passive talent, and there is no buff icon in the HUD. Whether this is simply a glitch in the Extra Kevlar or Kevlar Vest bug doesn’t matter. It robs an engy of a supply if the glitch is in Extra Kevlar, and the Soldier of a Level Point if it’s in Kevlar Vest. The ability should simply apply the same buff to the soldier that the engy could grant every time the soldier spawns.

  2. No weapon boosted icon. While not a big problem, every other boost has some change in the HUD. It can be difficult to tell when a rusty or yellow Resistance weapon is glowing gold.

  3. The tooltip on Shoot Grenade is wrong. You can shoot any Frag Grenade, even the enemy’s or your ally’s, not just your own.

  4. When upgrading or fire-walling a command post, it is easy to swap classes accidentally. It would be nice if it kicked you out of the post with your current class the moment you finished, rather than keeping you in the command post menu. Even better would be the addition of a 6th option besides class or weapon swapping (Firewall for Operatives and Upgrade for Engineers) that allows you to make use of Sense of Perspective, rather than locking you in the Command Post wheel menu.

  5. Voip is set to -6 by default. This is a major bug requiring a serious workaround. (See mindbullet’s tutorial in this forum) It can easily be patched, I’m sure, by simply adjusting the default in and out levels from -6 to 0.

  6. There is no Team Voip implementation. Refer to Mindbullet’s tutorial referenced above. This is currently the ONLY means of using in game voip. There’s not even a keybind for Team Voip, only global (turned off by default) and fireteam (which requires precious seconds wasted by each team member to set up). This is the worst design oversight in the game.

  7. There is no means of telling which size you are in game save knowing which health bar is which size. This could be fixed with a simple silhouette in the HUD.

  8. “Guard the X” is used while on offense. Can we not “Assault” the objective if we aren’t the proper class? Doesn’t that one word better convey our … objective?

Hope this feedback helps with the Patches and Gold DLC. I’ll keep enjoying the beta and posting my feedback here.
