BEST WAYS TO FARM CREDITS??

(kAndyREW) #1

Hey guys,

I’m putting a video together, and I would love if you guys, the community, could help.

Are there any great ways to farm credits quickly besides doing the daily achievements?

Do your three missions… play your uhb-jek-tivs.

And play your role. Give ammo, packs, etc… when you’re a Support Merc. Plant/defuse and repair when you’re an engineer. Frag when you’re assault.

Don’t be a d*ck.

You can get HUGE amounts of XP by just handing out ammo packs.

Yesterday I was in a game as Aura with 5 Skyhammers and NOBODY gave ammo packs, expect for themselves. It baffles me that they are holding back team mates AND themselves. What’s so hard to dump an ammo pack at your team mates every now and then?

Well I’m gonna repeat the rest. Do your missions (seriously the amount of credits you make with them now is staggering).

Aside from this playtime is the next biggest credit source. So don’t leave just because you got your teeth kicked in a couple of times. Or in the words of Commander Taggart:

“Never give up, never surrender.”

Badges and game performance also grant some additional cash.

But more important don’t play for farm, play to have fun and to get good, the money will come in on its own.

Don’t get gotta catch em all desease.

You don’t need every single merc in the game, to be competive. They are balanced good enough that every merc can have a positive impact. Save up for those you find interesting and learn to be good with them. You take 3 mercs into battle and I can garantee you it will be your 3 favourite mercs 99% of the time.

Same goes for loadoutcards if you start out don’t waste your credits on cards.
The perks don’t decide the game/firefight your skill does.
You get random cards every couple of matches so sooner or later alternate weapons will show up for free.
And what you have till then gets the job done just fine.

If you play with mates, try to avoid stacking and balance the teams. Long and fairly balanced games earn more credits than base camping ones. And as a matter of fact, you’ll encounter the game lobby less times per amount of time, which is not earning you anything. Close to timelimit objectives and stopwatch can respectively earn you 300+ and 600+ credits on their own. And generally, the more player playing their role and having good scores there will be, the higher the base fee will be. So do teamwork, play objectives are still the biggest options.

Nope. But the most efficient use of your time would be to:

Complete your set of contracts within the three hour period. Do each gamemode at least once pr. day. Play in Objective mode (although Stopwatch mode seems to recently be brought up to par.) Make sure a team is not two man down. Matchmaking will try to fix the problem, but if it does not succeed, penalties will begin to be dealt after a short while, for not dealing with the situation. Play on a decently populated server (6+ players). Win your matches. That’s all there is to it, nothing else matters. Oh yeah, always play, never sleep

But simply put: win games! (But that still dwindles in comparison to doing contracts and just playing.)

So in order of importance related to credit gain: 1) Do contracts. 2) Play on populated servers. 3) Just play. 4) Make sure teams are not uneven, by a team being two man down or worse . 5) Win matches. Obviously 4 and 5 can occasionally come at odds with each other, depending on the situation.

You want long matches, the vast majority of credits are gained based of your time in game. Make sure you do your missions and daily first win bonuses.

Oh also don’t buy boosters you spend more and gain less than just saving up your money you plan to spend in-game and buying mercs directly - buying mercs directly is the best £/$ to Credit ratio

(Runeforce) #10

If you win. You want the opposite if you loose. But long matches does decrease downtime though.

This is true. The most efficient use of your time is to spend. But of course you are not improving your talent by doing that (and you want to spend hundreds of hours on each character to really get to know them.)

You earn 12 credits per minute of in game time. That is the how the base fee is calculated.

(kAndyREW) #12

^this is awesome. do you have any other quantifiable metrics regarding credit gain?

Not really. I tried to do the math to determine the skill bonus back when it was a separate credit value but it had way too many variables to figure out. It wasn’t score converted to credits as I had hoped.

'awesome thanks

question, how does populated servers help with credit gain? more people playing it directly means more credits?

What about uneven teams? Does the game start to give you less credits if teams are uneven?

There is a credit penalty for uneven teams/not filled servers. Also, the skill bonus does have SOME basis on score and scores are always higher with more players involved(as long as it isn’t a stomp).

The penalty isn’t huge, but it is there.

I’m not even convinced that playing well, doing your role or having a high score correlates into credits. I assumed it did, but I’m just not sure.

What is the impact of winning or losing a round?

It’s pathetic and sad that I am still unsure after 180 hours played, but that also says something about how poorly it’s, well, not explained in any detail at all.

As an aside, I would love for there to be a stated; “If your team wins the match, you get 25% more credits”. Give people some incentive to actually play to win the game, not tdm.

From what the can tell the only benefit for winning is that during the match you most likely gained more EXP and you get a small exp bonus at the end. So winning does benefit your credits, but only because of what you did to win and not because you won.

@MissMurder Is there a win bonus that can be directly converted into extra credits? Could you explain exactly what it does/how it is calculated if that bonus exists? If it doesn’t exist, why is there no win bonus in a game that revolves around winning through objectives. I feel like this would be a huge mistake not to emphasize with a larger reward.

(Runeforce) #18

No this is not true. It’s at least not how it used to be, now it’s impossible to tell anymore. Skill translates into about 0-5% bonus. The win bonus used to be about 40%.

What we really need is an explanation and a loading screen tip that tells people that it exists(if it does). As of right now, even people with 100+ hours in game don’t know what the bonuses are exactly.

grossly off-topic: I noticed two data cores in the underground part that are not there anymore. Is that a different game-mode, or did it use to start there on the final phase?
