Best Merc for Carrying?

(bubblesKeyboard) #1

So throughout the 20 hours I’ve had this week, more than half of the time I’ve played with sloths for teammates who spend the entire match dead. So it got me thinking, what can I do to carry these supersmartpeople?

  1. Medic - keep reviving them, but they usually end up shooting the wrong way before they get killed again so…
  2. Objective - rambo it with Prox which works kind of but usually the other team sits on the objective so I cant stealthily defuse things and having no health means I cant win more than 2 ish gunfights
  3. Frag - this is what I’ve been doing so far, seems to be the most effective in terms of actually getting something done but we still lose because no one gets the objective and the moment I try I get killed

I went 73/10 one game and we still lost because my teammates had 30ish deaths and spent THE ENTIRE GAME DEAD while I hugged a wall and tried my ass off to do something.

Thoughts?

pick the OP mercs so either Aura or Fragger

I thought about that but the only problem is unless you have ammo suppliers you will get screwed one way or another. I guess with Fragger you can spam nades after you run out of ammo lol…

or ‘k’ to respawn. or hog an ammo crate. Fragger is so much more powerful in killing than any other merc out there, you really cant hope to make a dent with anything else

On full kills concerns, I’d also say fragger. Second to best close range damage (this is what you need to push on attack), loads of health and not too slow compared to minigun man (he will be back).
If she’s not in her healing area, aura feels a bit weak to push forward nicely.

With good movement skills, proxy is a merc of choice. Don’t forget to swap between weapons to face your enemy with the appropriate sausage launcher (shotgun vs sniper, BAD) and make good use of strafe. But you depend on medics in your team quite a lot.

In my opinion, Skyhammer can also be sweet carrier, but people tend to fight from too far with him. Once you get used to the carpet bombing trajectory, you can stay at very close distance from blasts and benefit directly of the enemies panic.

Skyhammer with the BR is OP. You need to land 2/3 bursts on them to kill and depending on the range you can kill in one with headshots. I prefer Skyhammer because I can supply myself with ammo so I don’t have to rely on teammates.

I’m not a fan of shotguns - I tried Aura’s and I didn’t like it but if Proxy’s is better I’ll give her a go again. I used her with an SMG and she was really good but unless you can ninja plant/defuse on a dimwitted team then you’re out of luck because there’s no way you’ll survive more than 3 gunfights without heals.

Fragger is kind of ridiculous, I got 15 kills with nades alone after I ran out of ammo LOL

that’s actually very true.

Skyhammer can do almost everything.
His burst-rifle is not only in CQC-med. range insanely strong, but also on long ranges.
His pistol, the DEagle hits as hard, if not even harder than both revolvers and can be spammed, too.

BFRs are meant for mid-long range. Its not as good up front. Good thing I have rail practice from Quake lol
