On a totally unrelated topic, would it be possible to get a full list of all maps made in 2005 to be published. It would stop confusion, wrong nominations and help me to nominate maps i may have overlooked.

@Jaqu, I have been thinking about it…I see no reason that you can’t nominate dem_maps or ETF maps or…any mods maps. ( so, yes…nominate dem maps if you want)

There are more maps guys…don’t limit your choices to that list if you have a 2005 map.

I couldn’t even get dem_snow to load (downloaded it from etmaps.de), is it really that good and if so where did you download it from Jaquboss?

This is looking so far, more like a popularity contest for the mappers, not for their actual works. I’ll post a list later on tonight most likely. Busy and a lot of notes to sort through to determine which three are the worthiest.

Which I attempted to do, but thanks for the flippant remark. Springfield_pb doesn’t work for me either, though that’s vanilla ET, just in case you weren’t aware. :lol:

Edit: Actually, come to think of it, there are a number of maps, 10 plus, on etmaps.de that either fail to load all together, when you play them within their supposed mods, or fail to get to the limbo screen once loaded.

In regards to Springfield_pb, yea it’s a hunkmegs problem, though regardless of how high I set it…even all the way up to 512, I still can’t make it load.

I’m not sure what is going on in regards to dem_snow though, for instance I play dem_hillb2 from time to time and have no trouble loading that or other domination maps and I doubt it’s a hunkmegs problem…maybe a corrupt file. Will probably try to download from another site once I get back from vacation.

In regards to the main topic of the thread:

In my opinion there were about 26 very good maps worthy of playing and hosting on a server that were either released or repackaged (such as Marketgarden, repackaged from 40MB to 16.5 MB) this past year. I’m not including the maps that were released in the final two weeks of the year either, but still it was tough to come up with just three…
