What causes this? My friend is getting booted to the main menu almost every game, if not at least every second game. No warnings, no kicks, no error messages or anything. His game just puts him to the main menu out of nowhere.

My guess is that an unknown error occurred. This happens when an unknown error occurs.

This happens to me with CMM a lot. It’ll match me into a game, then kick to main menu, then kick from the game and back to matchmaking as if nothing happened. I’ve found that cancelling the search and trying again fixes it temporarily. No idea if it actually does or if it’s just confirmation bias.
