Being AFK and being a D***

(TheFancyWaffle) #1

**Well…Hello! I’m new here so I will just do this as right as possible. (Created an account just for this, IDK if someone will take this into account)

I already have 300+ hours in Dirty Bomb and in that whole time I’ve played with cheaters that got kicked and reported, wich is nice, so they don’t ruin this lil’ community, so I totally appreciate the reporting system for cheaters and for people with offensive names…but then! on the other hand we have drumm roll AFKers and Toxic D****, who starts telling everyone how he…well… DID IT to everyone’s mom and such, the kind of player that just makes you uncomfortable during the entire game, wich is really, really, really upsetting for me and others and the problem with that is the next:

The D**** can’t be punished in any way by his/her behaviour, why? Simple, kicking sometimes (97% of times) just won’t work because new players don’t know how to vote or people just don’t vote at all, and I’ve been thinking that the system as it is, is quite ok but we need more options than “Offensive name” and “Cheating” we need “Being AFK o AFKer” and also we could really use a “Toxic” or “Bad Behaviour” or just this…“Being a D***” options for moments like those, because that kind of people ruin the experience of DB where team work is key and after being called…well, a lot of names except your username you just don’t want to play anymore.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, it has been done before and/or I misspelled some things, english is not my first lenguage :c

Have a good day and thanks for taking the time to read this.****

Dont forget its not just noobs not voting. It could be friends in his party not voting. Ive had that issue in ranked where the team killing troll was part of a party. I was imediately given a vote kick in retaliation for trying to kick the damn troll.

https://imgur.com/a/YTWYE Luckily SD removed the vote kick option from ranked!

Why are people so sensitive?

An automatic prompt for kicking idle/afk players already exists. Reporting someone via Steam because your feelings got hurt or anything else in between already exists. You can also call a vote manually to have someone kicked in any mode not named ranked.

While so far there is just two motives available for a ban, this does not mean that you are not allowed to report issues outside from those two. If you ever want to report bad behaviours, you can report them under the “offensive name” motive. SD is aware of this issue and allow bad behaviours to be reported this way. They do not change the report system yet, because it would require to update the database, which is a lot of work. Anyway, your ticket should be taken into account no matter what.

Alternatively, if for some reason you can’t access the report system in game or if you do not trust it, you can directly send your reports by following this link : https://dirtybombsupport.zendesk.com

About AFKing people, reporting them isn’t really something you should bother to do. Unless it’s in ranked, maybe…

You forgot just one thing, in 99% of cases you cannot kick an afk even though there is a call.
Once I had an afk in team for "“3"” matches in row without being able to kick him. Needed 10 fuckin votes

Because we are sensitive little snowflakes. Lol ha ha

Eox already covered the offensive type of people.
As annoying as having an afk is, the reasons they go afk varies. Some can be afk because they are trolls, while others do it because of serious life issues. Either way im sure it would be difficult for SD to tell why they are if someone reported them.

But if they’re afk long enough it’ll send them back to the menu, regardless. Isn’t it after 2 minutes of inactivity? The only time I ever see people go idle for short periods of time repeatedly is when someone is texting or somethin’ in between deaths and they take an extra 10-20 seconds to spawn in every time. Calling a vote to kick these people usually seems to do the trick and then suddenly those angry messages from your ex aren’t that big of a deal anymore. B)

guess you haven’t heard a player playing 2 accounts on separate PCs… one on your team to render the match a 4v5.

And what if his both accounts are teamed up together ? ^^

don’t forget to punish them (type “/p” in the chat) whenever you get intentionally teamkilled, the trolls get auto-kicked after several occasions with leaver’s penalty.

Easy… Smurf disconnects immediately before match start and abandons the match before it becomes valid and official, cancelling the match automatically.

How’s the rock formation there?
