Beginning ET tutorial

(Yorrick) #1

Hey my mate is a real beginner at mapping and helping him over vent hasn’t really helped him so far. He knows how to make a room but doesnt really know much next to it.

Anyone happens to know some good beginner tutorials for him. I checked the tutorial section but there aren’t any tutorials that explain more on making his first room. And most links are dead anyway.

Thanks!

EDIT: Video tutorial is much appreciated.

in case he is german. i wrote a cool tutorial about mapscripting --> http://www.et-scene.de/forum/mapping-f23/19316-tutorial-scripting-grundlagen-fuer-w-et.html

in case he is not german, then for mapscripting he definitely should read this. best so far ive read. very helpful for beginners -->http://4newbies.planetwolfenstein.gamespy.com/Map_Scripting_4_Newbies.pdf

maybe google “2bit tutorial wolfenstein”. also a good adress. there are a couple more, but i forgot where they are

videotutorials i only know those ones here. they are german too  --> http://s49.deinprovider.de/vbarticles.php?do=category&categoryid=2

Err well this guy hardly knows how to make a room. Scripting are too many steps forward.

I just started mapping 3 weeks ago and think the 2bit tut helped me very much. All basic stuff explained with good snapshots :

Add a good mapper on xfire for some extra help… and you re addicted like me now.
