Before ob: noobs should not be able to play with pros

(davidemo89) #1

I have played too many matches with player levels 16 and 2 in different teams. The game is very frustrating for the level 2 player.
Low Levels should not be able to play with high levels.

Should be very interesting a system like ghost recon online.

And IMHO stop watch should be the primary game type to choose, not objective

furthermore, they shouldn’t even be allowed to drink from the same water fountain

(Neo_TA) #3

i understand your frustration im a level 13(not a good player) and i dont want to play vs new players they will end up rage quitting the game and think the game is poop when its not but theres nothing that can be done. they could add more servers max level from 5 to 6-7 then lock all over servers but then that would have all the low levels playing together but that would make problems like hackers playing with low levels but then they could add afew servers that are unlocked to play at any level so friends could play together i dunno but something needs to be done

I suggest that you play ranked. This way you are guaranteed to play with level 5 or more players.

(Bloodbite) #5

I think it’s just growing pains that have to be endured right now. I was criticised for having only “5” kills after we’d won an 11 minute match
from a Level 8 dude that didn’t take into account my medic did all the suicidal reviving while the other medic just stood by downed players focusing on kills.

We may see a change in the next couple of months of the gaming going open beta. I can’t help but think back to W:ET when the hardcore players powered through the nub’ness and either forced them to rage quit or learn the hard way how to contribute to the team/objectives. That being when the hardcore players were significant enough in number to become game changers when they joined your average pug stalemate match.

I for one think the voice commands helped alot to enable that environment, and we probably need to use them more often. That being said, they’re not so easy to read at a glance (in terms of getting the hang of) for everyone. I know in my situation I’m playing on a 51" plasma (cause I can) and the tiny little menu of commands popping up in the top left of the screen is
it doesn’t inspire me to make the effort to use it like it should, let’s put it that way.

More “repair the vehicle” type voice commands during a match would probably go a long way to encouraging the nubs to focus on what is important at that point in the match.

This suggestion is not for me
but for the new player that will ragequit if killed every 10 sec D:

(-PogS-) #7

Well if new players don’t go on newbie servers then they cannot complain

(BioSnark) #8

We need level 10+ servers and this has been raised several times.

(Kroad) #9

pubs are incredibly boring because of the huge skill disparity and very low average skill, this sort of stuff happens all the time, and it will only get worse in 2 days time.
only pugs are enjoyable atm, there definitely should be some level 10+ servers

thought this lvl of potato wasnt possible anymore

(Kroad) #11

it’s an old picture, just the worst example i had screened, but yes that level of potato is still possible using certain programs which I won’t name here (undetectable but banned in dirtycups, pretty sure some people are using it tho)

(Szakalot) #12

you mean gfx limits directly on GPU? at least they know they have to cheat to get there

(Kroad) #13

agreed, to an extent, as i think you should be able to do it through config

if devs want to ban this, they should just force maxparticlevertexmemory to be 400 or above (necessary anyway to force explosions, smoke etc) as this forces muzzleflash which makes the game unplayable using flat textures

(PinkFrog) #14

Noobness has nothing to do with rank. I’m 11 by now and still utterly incapable of winning any duel with anyone online
 ever

(Humbugsen) #15

I think level for ranked should be upped to lvl 7 again or even higher:
Level 5 players only have the starter/rotation mercs and absolutely no idea how to play and they ragequit a lot!

Higher level for ranked also helps to keep cheaters out (because hopefully banned before) and people are less likely to create new accounts for a better rank or to “own some newbies”.

I play with a limited config but I do have that set to 400. It makes the game fairly normal but runs better and I don’t feel like a cheat if I hit somebody through an airstrike. Also, I figured when RedEye came out it would have to be limited due to smoke most likely being removed as well. So I might as well not get used to everything being removed.

(Strid) #17

From my experience, the only people playing ranked are clans/premades usually lvl 20+ against a random group of unadvised lvl5-7’s
its always clearly one-sided with someone quitting the game by the end of the first round

I don’t see it changing while they match premades vs solo queuers

(-PogS-) #18

Well avoiding to stack good players together would also clearly add to the balance of games. Newbies need to learn the game and be taught by good players and mimicking them is a way to improve. Separating newbies and veterans would result into a slower learning of the newbies. The aim is that newbies become veterans faster so we have a larger player pool and more fun

(BioSnark) #19

Newbies need to learn the game without being decimated and trapped in their spawn. Separating newbies from veterans results in less people from both parties leaving the game in disgust.

I just played a succession of stacks, with the dubious fortune of being on the winning side. I eagerly look forward to a marked increase of stacks and hacks during open beta. Also looking forward to meeting a lot of interesting and horrible people constantly cursing at each other, macro afk farming in spawn, and continuing to not kick hackers.

‘Competitive’ matchmaking will be pointless so long as it is a venue for clans and friends to pubstomp.

(Rémy Cabresin) #20

Comp: MM unranked available from lvl 5, ranked available from lvl 15(or even 20 if there will be ingame ladders/leagues outside of just the ranks), and a completely separate ranked from lvl 15 for clan play(only premades/registered clans)
Pub: we just need servers like 0-5 5-10 10-20 20-30 add increments of 10 from here.
