Become The Anti.. Fuck that. Frikin retard players...
You think Im gonna read all that ?

I still flied over it and grabbed some words tho.
Apparently you are speaking about how toxic players are poison and how people can be the antidote of that poison.
Lemme tell you a secret. If you don’t care about them there is no such thing as a poison. I find it funny when people rage over me. And when im the on raging which happens sometime they must find it funny too. And if they dont … its their problem because I. dont. freakin. care.
Hate makes you strong. Worked for him.

Off topic there but i can’t let you say Kylo is weak.
If you think that you didn’t watched the film correctly. The dude stopped a blaster bolt mid air. And when he was beaten by Rey he had just been shot by Chewie’s crossbow which during all the movie literally shred trooper and sent them flying in the air like ragdolls. He took the shot and walked way and managed to put up a fight with someone after that.
And the dude is only a half trained apprentice.
Back to the topic now xD
@Jesus Sure, he is strong. But he isn’t really evil and filled with hate like the others were.
If said new players would stay away from ranked, and not play Vassili ever, then I’m cool with them.
However, if they do, I will lose my shit.
Hey guys. I typed this us a few months ago and I wanted to see what you guys had for thoughts on the matter.
Hello everyone, this is one of a few articles I will be writing about gaming. This one is about something that plagues nearly every gaming community ever created. What compelled me to write this article is my observations of other gamers while playing Dirty Bomb.
It does not matter what multiplayer game you play, you will eventually find it, contempt for other players in your game. For some reason many gamers have extreme levels of contempt towards their fellow gamer for seemingly no reason at all. As of late I have seen the amount of hate going around in Dirty Bomb escalate at an alarming rate. Another observation I have made is that almost all the hate is coming from players that are very new to the game. These new players are coming into the game knowing nothing besides basic controls. They do not know the best way to push or defend an area or even when and when not to push/defend. If players are coming into the game with little knowledge on how to play the game why do they act like they are gods at the game and anyone else is trash? Why cant new players come into a game asking questions instead of giving nonsensical orders and advice only a noob would give? Why do these players not come into a game with an understanding that they are not the best at the game and don’t know everything about the game? Instead they go off the deep end if you so much as try to give them some friendly advice. They give you no chance to help them, they push away the help and call you a name for what? For just trying to help. Once you have stopped trying to help them they go even further to tell you how bad you are and how they are doing it right without being able to give an answer when asked how what they are doing is better when they are on the bottom of the scoreboard.
Not only does this lack of thinking and this giving of hate frustrate the hell out of those players who actually do know what they are doing it seeps into us and next thing we know we are giving out hate right back. Does this make us the better person, no it does not. So what is the answer to this problem? I honestly do not know. I am not sure there is a way to make someone use their brain and think about what they are doing and saying.
I think the only way to combat this contempt is the fight fire with water. When they do something stupid, don’t tell them they did something stupid, give them a tip on how to achieve whatever they were trying to do the correct way. Do not imply that your way is better, just give the advice and let it be. They will realize your way is better and therefore cannot have contempt toward you because you helped them to do what they were doing in a more safe and efficient way. If they do not take your advice and show hostility toward you, leave them alone, they are a hopeless matter and are not worth your time or thought. This is what I have found to be effective in combating hostile players.
Now what if you just cant let it go? That guy just gets under your skin and you get so frustrated with him. He does not do anything right, he is calling you names, he is causing the entire team to lose the match, this piece of $h!t is a %#&@!.. there you go, now you are the hater. How do you prevent yourself from becoming a hater? Stop playing the game… it is that simple. You might say "I am not going to stop playing just because this A$$hole. Well I say to you. It is just a GAME. What are games for? making us happy, entertaining us, having fun. If you find yourself frustrated and angry is the game doing it’s job? No, so stop playing for a few minutes so you can cool down. Play another game, take a break and chat in TS. Just do not let the hate have an opportunity to effect your own emotions. That is exactly what the hater wants. It is like a virus that just looks for another host to infect. So don’t let it.
The end game is this, play the game, have the fun and let it end there. No drama, no frustration (except with your own aim :P) and the game will be fun for all. Please take what i have said and ponder it. Come up with your own ideas and please share them in the comments. I think we can all help decontaminate the games we play if we become the antidote. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
Good luck pressing for social change the one play these people go to escape/ You are going to need it. AHAHAHAHAHAHA
I already did press for social change. Take it or leave it it is up to you. I have had my say.
If players are coming into the game with little knowledge on how to play the game why do they act like they are gods at the game and anyone else is trash? Because people tend to have hard time admitting that they’re (at least partly) in fault when their team loses.
Of course, if they got a lot of experience in other shooters… or even spunkgargleweewees, where teamwork isn’t necessarily that important.
I think the only way to combat this contempt is the fight fire with water. When they do something stupid, don’t tell them they did something stupid, give them a tip on how to achieve whatever they were trying to do the correct way.
I’ve never been tried to vote kick when I’ve been toxic… but when I’m trying to give tips and be helpfull… vote kick time!
EVERY
SINGLE
GODDAMN
TIME
How do you prevent yourself from becoming a hater?
Force people to buy common sense from their local store?
Stop playing the game… it is that simple.
No need to really because I can sleep just fine.
You might say "I am not going to stop playing just because this A$$hole.
MMmmm… no, I’d say “I’m not going to stop playing just because I still got missions to do”
Well I say to you. It is just a GAME.
I know. That’s why I can sleep just fine even after a frustrating match or matches.
making us happy, entertaining us, having fun.
I think people are looking for different experiences. The word you’re looking for is ‘engaging’
Just do not let the hate have an opportunity to effect your own emotions.
But I don’t have emotions. Devil took my soul 'ya know.
That is exactly what the hater wants. It is like a virus that just looks for another host to infect. So don’t let it.
We call them trolls, not haters.
… oh wait shit he’s talking about me! D: … or actually nevermind since that’s not what I want.
While I understand your point its pretty futile as long those people feel safe behind their screens. And most flamers are kids without common sense. God I hate kids
Not always. I’m one of those holier-than-thou people that stays calm and rational throughout everything. I help people where I can, and protect people when they’re being flamed.
All of that comes down to patience. As long as torment doesn’t last long, it won’t ever get much further than a shake of the head and a sigh.
But this game, this is something special. You’re reliant on teammates, trying to work together to chew through challenges. There will always be some deadweight, but that’s fine, because the game is balanced and the enemy team has deadweight too, right? Right?
After two or three rounds, you’ll lose your shit.

Didn’t think to do that after his touching family moment did he? Also he manages to get beaten by two people who have never touched a lightsaber before ever.
He’s pretty badass though. Would marry tbh
The guys I know who play this game loads don’t touch the forums (or potentially the community) at all. I think it’s that interaction that fosters toxicity and negative energy. People who don’t touch it seem pretty fine, hell even in-game I rarely see heckling or trolling, not compared to WoT or the likes. As I’ve said before, forums unfortunately become a dumping ground where jaded players go to metaphorically swing their lightsabers at a console. I was thinking earlier that the current forum layout doesn’t really funnel people into constructive conversations really, it’s really people just winding into general chat and whinging a bit. Maybe bring some of the other subforums higher up? I dunno. Uninstall_forums.exe and enjoy Dirty Bomb for what it is.

I’ve been whinging about the forums being rubbish for ages*. I’m a General Chat only kinda person now, as are most it seems, so gen chat gets flooded with everything. Some up to date forum features would be a godsend.
*Edit: In terms of features, not content. Though lately we seem to be getting into a heck of a lot more salty arguments than usual.
First of all thank you for writing this inspirational…thing, I highly enjoyed it !
And I can relate to many of those experiences and feelings as well (as probably almost every person in online gaming can nowadays…) so it felt relieving to see someone else suffer in the same way.
While I do agree that you should always give advice and not turn toxic, i just can’t motivate myself to it when I know it’s some person (<- “person” could’ve been a whole paragraph with bad words but I’ll try to stay positive^^’) that doesn’t even want to play this game, you can spot them right away, they have no interest in this particular game. Instead they rant and flame other people about everything no matter what. They’re like a volcano of hate.
And I’m not gonna try to put out a volcano with water, instead I’ll open the chat and tell everyone “Hey look, there’s a volcano right there. You can see all the features of this volcano, as it spews out toxic gases and volcanic ashes endlessly. Don’t be a volcano, guys.” , so everyone with social etiquette and manners can understand and learn from that bad behavior.
But yeah, you could also mute the guy I guess…
I would be more concerned about those who give zero fucks as opposed to privacy vs exposure.
Yeah…I had some level 8 or 9 bitch at me and call me a degenerate because I couldn’t kill a bull rush of 4-5 players while I was in the middle of a reload, while he was planting c4.
Continued to call me a degenerate multiple times while I continued to kill and top the scoreboard…
Off topic, but ever since I hit 30 people have been criticizing my level a lot more…just like him…but 29 and below nope…but I hit 30 and it’s like suddenly I’m some super elite who lives DB. (But I’m honestly not that good, I have my moments but I suck and this is my first serious shooter I’ve ever played)

I seem to find that if your team gets rekt, it’s your fault for being a “noob level 28” or whatever, and if you win people ragequit because “omg level 28 vs level 6 that’s so fair”.
Personally I quite enjoy the salt, but still, I can see how that’d get annoying.

I totally get what you are saying. I see this a LOT when im pub stomping.
I have over 15 years of FPS experience, Gaming Hardware, personalized and adjusted settings in hardware and software, dedicated gaming internet connection, I do not expect a 12-16 year old kid with a crap computer to beat me, this game is 17+, if anybody has a problem with the language and violence (game and society) they shouldn’t be playing, parents should show some responsibility and from time to time see what their kids are doing with their computerized devices.
I cannot speak for the people that may be playing with a physical disadvantage, I’m sure I would be more lenient on my behavior if my team partner was really bad and his IGN was MrOneEye or Ihave4fingers or MsColorBlind.
I try not to be an asshole but when I see my team go 5 times to A and die 5 times on the way to A then I violently point out that they are stupid. It is not the fact that players are inferior to me, its the fact that after making the same mistakes over and over and over they don’t change nor learn from it:
There are basic rules to playing an online FPS:
-
Survival - People tend to think that FPS games are about aiming and hitting, truth is FPS games are about living longer which increase your chance of making a kill, this is the main reason why people using aimbots are killable.
-
Adjusting turn speeds - Pointer not going where you want it to go when you need it to go there? If you are missing all your shots maybe you should do some mouse/pointer adjustments (slow it down a notch)
-
Thinking - FPS players tend to think that they can go rushing into battle, strategies like picking enemies off slowly, changing directions, changing objectives, backing up buddies, covering the back of the squad, etcetera, thinking in mid combat “what am I doing?, what are the rest doing? (friendly and enemy), what should I be doing?, what can I do to be doing what I should be doing?”.
-
Read and learn - every game has at least the minimal instructions, there are on screen stats, not reading and understanding that your character has a “personality”, that your weapon has a “type”, that your abilities have a “function”, people often don’t bother with reading or trying to understand and just wing it, there is a word for this and its called “ignorance” and I feed on it and taunt people for being ignorant.
-
Good hardware - Not everybody has money, but hardware quality = better gaming experience, its a fact.
I enjoy playing video games, people saying “its a just a game” should go fuck themselves, “time is life and life is limited”, people wasting their own time is their own decision, when people waste my time I take it very personal, I want to enjoy the time I spend playing since it is costing my life.
Call me hateful but people cowardly running around and hiding, people rushing to a bullet, people not running, jumping and moving around dynamically in a 3D game, people having to lift their mouse 2 or 3 times to do a 180 turn, people not paying attention to what is happening in game, people that cant count when it becomes a 1vs3… people not thinking and not learning tend to piss me off, I am not the type of person to give you a pat on the back and say “hey try this” when you do something I think is wrong, I’m the type of person that has been watching you over the last 5+ minutes and watching you do the same stupid things over and over and then point out to you that you are “stupid” and you should go smash your head against a brick wall over and over because you would most likely do that until your brains come splashing out instead of simply saying “no thanks”, that’s the kind of person I am, if you don’t like it then go fuck yourself, I’m not asking you to stop being a pansy and be more violent in a violent game, accept me as I am just as I accept you as you are, yes some people consider me an asshole and I don’t give a fuck, others call me friend and we get along just fine.
