I was reffering to the patch that is on the PC now
Since they have had a chance to see the updates on the PC and to see if they can be further improved I expect when the SAME updates come to the consoles [yes they are the same, they are not different updates because its a console… but the same updates, this isnt graphics or perfromance we are talking about, but game balancing] Along with the DLC they will be further tweaked slightly along with the PC.
And if the PC had the DLC when it was ready it could see any imbalances with the new maps/attatchments sooner than when it comes out on the consoles so could have an idea and get to work on the update quicker than usual.
When you say the PC is a different beast it means nothing to this… if it was so different in terms of balancing then the pc and console would need complete different patches and ‘weapon’ settings… But no they are both the same… like all games.
Most games actually use the PC first for patches before patching the console so they can make any further changes needed…
Game balancing is not the same across all platforms for all games. Just to give you an example I recently played another class based shooter. In that game there is a sniper class. Obviously it is much easier to snipe on PC than it is with a 360 controller. For the sake of balance on PC they reduced the sniper’s clip size in order to make up for their higher capacity to aim. There are game balance issues for which it might be necessary to tweak differently based on platform. A possible example might be making the grenade’s hit box for grenade shooting smaller on PC due to their greater capacity to aim.
