Be More Objective - What the...

(Hatey) #1

This challenge is outright impossible when you get a higher level character.

Being eg. a level 15 doesnt really help you THAT much to compensate for the godly aim of the bots in this challenge AND the stupidity of your own bots AND the fact that some of the objectives are right next to enemy spawn. Even if I manage to take down the whole enemy team and get to the objective, I manage to repair/hack or what ever about 10% if even that before the bots are right on my face and kill me. Stopping the process in order to kill them is not rly much of an option because by the time youve killed half of them the other half has already spawned and is on the way to kill you so theres no time for doing the objective beetween if you want to stay alive.

Ive managed to get to the part where you steal the… documens (?) but I never made it in time because I keep dying like 50 times per objective. All the other challenges were relatively easy but maybe thats because I might have been a lower level character at the time.

Still I think this should be fixed, if not by making the bots easier then at least move their spawn further away from the objectives that you at least have a chance

Anyone got any tips other than making a new character and doing it on lower level…?

I did it at a high level. Not impossible, just challenging and your teammate bots are useless. 2 Star or 3 Star? Light Body is step one.

Get a disguise 4 the hack.

I originally found it really hard even when I was very low level (before any online play). Played it again more recently and it seemed about the same.

The trick is to kill more bots than you think you should need to. If you kill enough of the enemy, your bots will push forward PAST the objective and create enough of a buffer to complete your task. Just getting your bots TO the objective is not good enough.

It’s not impossible and there are plenty of threads with tips on how to do it. Search and Ye shall find the answer.

How to:

1.Place Bomb
From your deployment zone, exit to the right, and then sprint directly to the “Bomb Plant” site.
As you approach, ready a grenade (or Molotov) behind the stacked crates to distract the incoming enemies in the vicinity. While your foes regroup, plant the bomb immediately, and then quickly
retreat into the alley behind you to defend the bomb site as you wait for it to detonate. Then run to the Command Post (behind the door the explosives took out) and change class.

2.Repair Generator
The safest route to take as an Engineer is to doubleback toward your deployment zone (turn right from the
Command Post), and then rush the two sets of stairs on the raised platform. Once you’re
on the upper gantry, cross to the other side, and use the stairs opposite to reach the generator. Use the crates as cover if the enemy presence becomes troubling, although taking this route allows you to miss the majority of the fighting in the central part of this maze. When you begin the repair, keep facing the enemy’s spawn point and quickly remove those who come too close.

3.Hacking
As with the second objective, it is usually wise to double-back up the stairs nearest your spawn area. Follow
exactly the same path from the Command Post as before to reach the upper gantry. With this route,
you continue to maneuver without becoming involved in a mass battle, which is time-consuming
and dangerous. Fight only when you have to!

Very similar to what I did. Good tactics! On 3 Star when you get to the Hack part, here’s what I did: Approach again from your spawn on top. When start hacking, crouch down and back your way up until you are using the box behind you as cover. The box is opposite the enemy spawn staircase. Watch enemies below while hacking. Hopefully the Bots will try to shoot you from below, but from your crouched position you are a hard target. When the hack is complete run like hell!

I know alot of people that find level 2 difficult. The first 2 aren’t that bad but the final objective is insane. The just shoot the crap out of you.

End of the day it just comes down to the CPU on the day… Just keep playing and eventually the CPU will let up [like all games]

(Hatey) #9

Did you actually play in on high level character?

I actually managed to complete it soon after I created the thread BUT I still think its way too hard, its more about luck than skill because in addition to being deadly they spawn too quickly. I even tried it with a friend and we BOTH kept dying a billion times, cursing on both sides. Its not fun if it feels just frustrating.

Im all up for challenge and all that but thats just ridiculous.

(DazTroyer) #10

Level 14’ish I think, I had medium turret and two mines so I Defo wasn’t rank 1.

(Braqoon) #11

Yeah, I’m level 9 and 2 star challenge is crazy. Hacking is the worst bit as said before spawn is to near. I think it could be more passable if one of your team bots could be a n engineer and build turrets. Funny that bots on opposite side are much better than your team.

(DazTroyer) #12

That is annoying and its the same when playing the campaign on Hard, your team are all special needs facing bots from the special forces.

Use the search Luke…

I don’t get how people are having problems with it, I did one, two and three start all in a row last night :s

(kamikazee) #15

I tried to play the challenges as a SP introduction to the game. Don’t, as it is pure masochism to play it without a light bodytype or any ability upgrades.

Instead, go play the campaign or actually play against some noobs on a server. It might work out far better.

(Smoochy) #16

i did it level 16/17 with no trouble

you just have to use your brains to do it.

you can hack from around the corners. you dont have to be right next to it. i also find if you run past your team they follow you. if not they just stand in the middle section.

when you need to get up high for objectives find alternative routes. try the kross with drum mag. you can kill 4 people with one clip!

there area few routes up the building that they dont see you using, one near the bottom left (near com post on level 1) and one near the near left - up the side. and thats using medium body, i guess light has even more routes up.

btw - with a new character its super easy! i did 1-3 ina few mins back to back. my bots revived me plenty of times

I found the AI better when playing on your own to.

I was like you, swearing and getting frustrated and getting well annoyed with levels 2 and 3. But I always moan about how SP games are too easy so it was hard to justify getting so annoyed.

When I did it, I was well chuffed. So I’m glad they made it that hard.

I think i) there should have been other challenges besides those 4, each of the 4 challenge areas should have had more than 3 star levels and iii) the challenges should have been consistent in difficulty (because the other 3 were easy compared to Be More Objective).

(Braqoon) #19

ha, changed my body type to light and done two star run in 4 minutes
