Be more objective on PC - Videos

(FireWorks) #1

Heyo!

General Techniq posted his very nice tutorial on the Be More Objective challenges for the Xbox 360. With lv20!
http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28253

There was a lot of feedback that its not comparable with the PC so I decided to make my first video and posted it there. Im sorry for hijacking your thread, General!

Ok so here I am with an own lv20 2 and 3 star Challenge video for the PC crowd and everybody else interested in it.

As said it was my first video and its nothing really spectacular. Just a live shot of the 2 and 3 star challenges in a row. I tried to avoid any class specific skills so its a proof of concept that any class build can do it… Well thats what I thought til I watched it today again and saw me using the selfrevive! I hope its still ok for you;)
I also read in the forum to my suprise that some general skills that I thought were mandatory are actually not used by that many people. Well I still used them in the vid

But maybe theres something for others to learn anyways.

So here goes the first Video.

Today I thought wanted to make also a video showing that you dont need the light body type at all. I went with a heavy and his heavy weapons for the challenges. No cheating with medium or light stuff;) Too me this was significantly harder then with the light, but thats maybe because im not used to the weapons and slow movement. Well I didnt manage to do it in one go so here are the separate videos. Theyre also not commented, but thats no real loss:tongue:

lv20 2star with heavy weapons only:

lv20 3star with heavy weapons only:

Im open to constructive criticism so bring it on :oppressor:

It’s a LEVEL 20 character that the OP uses to complete the challenge, for those who might have missed it.

Great Videos!

Abgefahren!!

Ok I edited to point out the level 20 part a little more

Frost, if you found a desk for your keyboard, we can play together. Add mich einfach [AUT]FireWorks

(.FROST.) #6

To put it readable for others ill switch to english again.
Some general thoughts:
-What weapons do you use? The CARB9 is very popular with its high damage. Put a muzzle break, front grip and drummag on it to have very nice killing machine in your hands.
-I loved the light bodytype also because of the faster running speed. You are simply faster back in the action and give the other team less time to regroup.

Bots seem to have the combat intuition skill, so dont aim at them if you dont want to kill them. Let them do something else.
It seems that they dont fire back while they receive damage. So if stand in front of a bot, make sure to pump him full with bullets. If you stop (like for a short burst), he pumps you full with his bullets and youre very likely to find yourself on the ground. Thats why the SMGs are so nice, you can pump them full quickly on short distance.
If you cant achieve this constant pumping because the spread is already too high (weapon specific, range too big) or you dont have proper aim, then you should break the line of sight. This means Duck and Cover! Strafe or crouch into cover so the bot doesnt see (and cant shoot) you anymore. Then you come back and give him or them the second pounding! Pop in and pop out… Be quick!
So this means open ares are not your friend in firefights. You need cover!

Very important! What does the radar and the obituary say? Is your team in the dirt and youll face 5 nasty bots alone or is there only one enemy left and your team in the area in full size? Will we have to take the ground completely and fend off their respawn or can I go for the objective because the enemy bots are busy and are likely to lose the firefight anyway?

Enemy classes:
Operative on the ground wil cortex bomb you. Gib him!
Engineers are the guys killing your hack or plant. Focus on them and gib them.
Ok medics revive the others and should be killed but in hairy situations (low health, ammo) i prefer to gib the revived bot.
Against large groups I thinks its often better to separate enemies so only one bot has a line of sight on you. Whatever class it is. Of couse if nothing else has priority like the said engineer killing your hack.

You can see in the video that the nades also have an important role. Comming to a firefight with a nade for the others face is a good thing  Sprinting grenade is a really helpful ability, also shooting grenade is worth a credit.

Hope theres something helpful in there.

Depends on the person. There are people who can stay awake for several days and still perform very well or even better than before.

(FireWorks) #9

And after that they are done. After 3-4 days without sleep most people start hallucinating.

Sure we have plenty to argue about here and that everyone is different. Still there are many reasons why not letting the other person sleep is a often used tactic. Be it in military, police or marriage and neighbourhood

Tired people make more mistakes, which is well documented in studies with students, soldiers and especially pilots and medical personal. Another reason why 24h and longer shifts in hospitals are a pure insanity.

Ok, ill stop here before it goes too far. I just wanted to say that it shouldnt become an obsession and sleep is an essential part of health:) … and gaming:tongue:

(Vlane) #10

I’ve been awake for more than four days several times (like 3-4 times a month) and have yet to notice side-effects except becoming a little bit hyperactive.
Insomnia is amazing I tell you, you have so much time to do useless stuff.

For the average joe it’s probably better to sleep though, you’re right on that, but still, insomnia.

Against human players I use the Bulpdaun SMG as primary and the Kross SMG as secondary.
Against the Bots in this particular challenge I need to take the Euston AR as my Primary and the Bulpdaun SMG as secondary, since the Bots, especially the heavys can take almost one Clip from the Kross even though I pimped all of my weaponery with drum and extended mags. I also use the D-Flex red dot sights, muzzle breakes and front grips, with all my weapons. Body Type is mostly medium.

@FireWorks, wie add ich dich jetzt? Finde dich nicht auf Steam.

(FireWorks) #12

Try with a light body. The speed might work wonders.

Whats your steam name? Ill you add you then

(.FROST.) #13

Just Frost (for adding) .

Just tried a light body. 9min left after first obj. Over !!!7min!!! left after second obj.
No chance to just install the hack box. I really love the game now, since my ATI-problem is solved(more or less), but this challenge makes me so angry everytime I play it, I just want to slap someone point blank in the face.

I’m really angry SD, can you hear me? A hard SP is good, don’t want it too easy. Maybe 20 trys for a really hard part of a mission is ok. But I must’ve started this mission maybe 200 times and played it till the end at least 60to 80 times, I don’t know.

I never played such a hard mission in my whole gaming life. thats really not funny, I hope you read this post SD.

And its not the challenge itself. On a low level char, its hard in a way wich is ok, but at higher ranks17 and up its not funny at all.

And no one mentioned in the handbook, that the difficulty of this challenge would rise up to a utterly insane level.
