Battlesense XP?

(AssortedStuff) #1

I’m curious as to what is it and how does one earn Battlesense XP during a match.
It’s obvious that is by doing ‘stuff’, as I’ve noticed sometimes I earn more than others, but what ‘stuff’?

shooting stuff and then hiding

(AssortedStuff) #3

taking cover after shooting? Really? lol, I’ll verify it next time I play

(Volcano) #4

cant be worse than getting xp for using your grenade launcher or throwing med packs or xp for jumping

(AssortedStuff) #5

You get XP for jumping?? That’s hilarious if true.
Got to start paying more attention to XP earned during a match, as I generally just ignore that info.

Maybe he means the opposite player gets extra XP (250?) for killing someone who is mid-air (which often means jumping).

You get battlesense XP for giving and receiving damage while not dying. I think it is fair for classes which deal damage but do not frequently get kills to get XP this way (e.g. Sawbonez). It rewards you for staying alive and not just rushing in trying to get some easy kills. Sometimes you have two players in a firefight and instead of fighting to your death you retreat, which sucks for your opponent because he doesn’t get the kill or an assist, while rushing after the retreating player might give you a kill but will probably lead to your death too, which is fine when you play a rambo class but not that good if you are supposed to be covering your teams ass.

Two examples of this would be when on Terminal in the courtyard while defenders have not blown the tunnel way and on Chapel when the ESV is between the bridge and the chapel, in both cases both teams can get into a pretty intensive tug of war. Those kind of moments when the match is in balance are the greatest in Dirty Bomb imo.

The specifics for DB aren’t really known but it probably works according to this:

Close games = good games.

(Nail) #11

you get xp for tossing health or ammo packs even if no one picks them up

can we get a menu option to remove the gains from the screen or at least a line in the config to remove it same with the medals

(tokamak) #14

Is this the same as ‘score’ for score tab purposes?

(Silvanoshi) #15

It is indeed, yes.
