ban people from playing dirtybomb with vac bans !

(asparagusMist) #1

okay first off i love dirtybomb. i play it every day since finding it.i think it has a future if certain things are looked at and adjusted.

the main thing wrong with the game at the moment is Hacking. it is rife.

for eg last night and most is in the comp games i ran into 4 different hacker in 4 games.not hard to detect and easy to see they was hacking.

now, before they were just good comments come in all had vac bans for cheats. this takes seconds to find.

so, the simple answer is more cheats who are blatant or already banned from cheating in other games (will often have nothing to lose now caught cheating on that account) will just use that steam account to continue to cheat !

its common sense to just stop those accounts that are banned already to just stop them from playing dirty bomb.

for instance the first guy in my first comp game had 4 vac bans.4.yet hes playing dirtybomb with a aimbot ! it took seconds to find the hack and who he was yet the anticheat couldn’t.

this game will not progress anywhere if the cheats are not combatted.

removing vac banned people from playing it will instantly stop many cheaters !

i kinda think that stopping cheaters is a low priority.i always report them on twitter never a reply.with all details needed to remove people.stop being so idle about sorting out one of the biggest issues holding back your own game.

which is the blatant cheats ruining it.

DB currently uses the Nexon security system. It does not appear to do a good job. From experience, it seems like reporting hackers on their support page actually does result in a fairly quick response and investigation (presumably, since they don’t discuss it - a standard stance in this industry), so good on them for that bit.

However, preventing players with VACbans from playing DB would require moving the whole thing over to the VAC system. I don’t foresee that happening terribly soon - I can’t be certain, but I imagine there’s a fee for using Valve’s VAC system, given that Valve has put resources into its development and maintenance. I suspect they use Nexon, a system I assume they’ve designed themselves, to reduce costs. If that’s true, they are unlikely to switch over to VAC anytime soon.

A fair few people have VAC bans they shouldn’t really have - MW2 apparently? - or cheated in a game once but no longer do so. I think it’s unfair to blacklist them from all games forever because they fucked up in one game once.

The saying once a cheater always a cheater is just not true.

EDIT: The other thing is that if you do block people with VACs playing the game they’ll just make another account and use that instead. Which they may or may not use to cheat. I’d say they’re more likely to cheat on a dud account than their own though.

You’re doing it wrong, mate. They’ve got a bit about reporting hackers on their security page - posting it on Twitter will do nothing, and I’m kind of surprised you thought that was the right move.

For your convenience, here’s the link to their Report a Hacker page: https://support-dirtybomb.nexon.net/hc/en-us/articles/204359619-How-do-I-report-a-hacker-

I don’t think old bans are necessarily relevant. Sure, they could be flagged as suspicious but not banned, outright. However, It is pretty funny seeing a hacker with 0 days since their last VAC ban playing in my server.

Also, people with limited accounts (0 money spent on the account) should probably not be in competitive match making.

So basically what you’re saying is if you haven’t spent actual money on this game you shouldn’t be allowed in competitive? That wouldn’t go down well…

VAC bans only apply to VAC games, so it wouldn’t affect Dirty Bomb since it’s not using the same anticheat.

ONCE a cheater ALWAYS a cheater.
I kind of support this idea of blacklist.
Let them get what they deserve.

Just followed [TAG]Lightning playing with Sick6 guys and couple of others in matchmaking.
They are doing their best but hacker is raping them left and right.
Hacker who is cobalt.

I believe if you grab you copy of Webster’s dictionary and look up “Pay-to-Win,” you’ll find that their definition coincides with your words immaculately.

The only people who like P2W are the rich ones who can afford to blow large chunks of cash on those sorts of games, and statistics indicate that games like those simply can’t keep up the numbers for even those rich folks to enjoy their multiplayer gaming. Those games die quickly. I should prefer not to see that happen with Dirty Bomb.

worst thing is all the hoops you need to jump through to report someone.last few days been really bad for hacks.and its not on a whim hes hacking its lets check steam and ok look 4 vac bans. they dont hide it. just aimbotting blatant.even admitting it while playing.

first game of today. instant headshots on every person.teleporting to out spawn said im recording him and he left.

name was 4myhacks lol.

this is a great game community manager on twitter no reply also no reply from dirtybomb on twitter. so might aswell just accept the anticheat is crap and you can just cheat whenever you want.

Even if it was possible I believe people can change including cheaters, if they didn’t then fuck em and ban their account so they will be forced to make a new one.

(Draza) #12

There’s a lot of people with limited accounts without the intention of cheating.

Me, for example

And what if I don’t like purchasing online? what if I don’t want to give steam my credit card number? Have you thought about that?

(asparagusMist) #14

lol just checked one guy in this thread for eg no wonder why they dont want it they have a vac ban. haha.priceless.

How do you expect me to delete it if i’m not a moderator? I censored it on the quote so it’s not seen in my message, that’s all i can do.
