Balenced Mercs

(Corppet) #1

Long Story:

From what I’ve seen, new players always think one merc is better than another, which is very wrong. Some mercs in particular, Fletcher, Nader and Rhino. These are three of the mercs I see a lot of new players play as, thinking that they’re OP, but it’s not. But back to overall merc review, each merc has its benefits and downsides (pros and cons), require different levels of skill, and can be used as a counter or can be countered. I’m pretty experienced to Dirty Bomb, and I rarely use Nader, and almost never use Rhino, because I don’t do well with them compared to my playstyle. So if you think about choosing Nader, Rhino, or any merc, don’t buy it simply because you think it’s OP. Buy it because either you’ve played as them in the merc rotation and did well, or you like its playstyle and role.

Short Story:

Every merc is balenced, and no merc is the best or broken. If you plan of buying a merc, buy it from what you’ve experienced as him/her and what other EXPERIENCED players (typically lvl 10+) recommend for you.

I’m not sure I agree. Especially for Nader, the simplicity of her point and shoot grenades makes her good for new players without the advanced tactics needed to play well, such as with fletcher or even sparks.

I’d love it if every new Vassili on my team was rocking Nader instead xD

Nader is in no way a noob merc. I spot many new players playing Nader poorly. Can she get kills, yes…well that’s because she is am assault character and her nades are very lethal. I agree OP all mercs seem fine except sparks for me but shes like borderline imo.

Nader is not a noob merc.
I mean sure people just spray and pray with her nades but that’s almost her whole purpose.

I’ve seen a surplus of users that know how to actually use her in a whole, know when to marty, where to nade. etc…

fletcher is definitely overpowered (I have 575 hours in DB)

(gloomyRequirement) #6

It’s not as obvious as you make it sound. Fletcher’s hp should be 100. Nader is actually quite on par with him, only she isn’t an engineer as well

(Corppet) #7

Sure fletcher can one shot a few mercs without sticking them, and he can deal massive damage with him, but he’s only overpowered when you know how to play him. Just like any other merc.

Unbalanced equates to Rhino…and Kira’s K.D.(me) homing laser, everyone else is more or less pretty balanced.

(Verticules) #9

Mercs are balanced, but Team Synergy is not. No one wants a Phantom or Thunder on their team in a Comp Match, no one.

(Xenithos) #10

Um… Unless you’re me.
However, that’s coming from over 500 hours of DB i’ve got in. So… Yeah…

(PastrySama) #11

Balenced.

For me fletcher is really good and I know how to play him. But good phantom can kill full enemy team and give his team advance. So good phantom is really helpful and bad phantom is like every class which is played by bad player.

Nader isn’t a noob merc, she is just an excellent noob slayer.

(Yoma) #14

1.She is a “noob merc” because just switching to her Nadelauncher and spamm the button 5 times is already pretty much a kill atleast. (In most situations)
2.Every merc in skilled hands is a “noob slayer”, because noobs tend to not move much which makes it hard to not hit the head with any gun.
3.Check the date of the last post.
