balanced character build

yeah i need 1 please post ideas

I get the most use out of my S/E/O. For example, on Resort, I get to use S on the first two missions, O on the last mission, and then E when on defense.

an S/M/E/O might be stretching it too thin…I think.

Anyway, my S/E/O build is;

Battle Hardened
Supply Max Increase
Combat Intuition
Sprinting Reload
Resupply Rate Increase
Silent Running

Armor Piercing Ammo
Flashbang
Kevlar Vest
Extra Magazine
Satchel Charges

(I don’t get the grenade skills because I use a light and can’t use the grenade launcher attachment. So, I usually use my pips on flashbangs and molotovs instead. I do love the grenade skills, but that is the sacrifice I chose to make.)

Nerves of Steel
Light Turret
Medium Turret
Improved Weapon Buff
Extra Landmine
Gatling Turret

Sticky Bomb
Caltrop Grenades
EMP Grenades

I haven’t built this…but here is my attempt at an all-around build. The only use I could see for this is if you were playing 1v1, and the map was random or Security Tower. I take back what I said about the turret upgrades and extra landmine.

(I have no idea if 1v1 is fun in this game…but I know that 2v2 is extremely fun. 2v2s on Refuels are the best games I’ve had yet… So fast-paced, and epic. Yea, I know…this game isn’t meant to be played 2v2…but if you try it, you can’t deny that it is fun. Who knows, 1v1s might work. )

Battle Hardened
Combat Intuition
Sprinting Reload
Silent Running
(No Supply pip stuff because it is 1v1 and you will only be buffing yourself.)

Flashbang
Kevlar Vest
(No armor piercing because you wouldn’t be using soldier against another soldier in any situation. No extra magazine because you are only supplying yourself and should have enough pips to do so.)

Improved Life Buff
Self-Resurrection

Gear Head
Nerves of Steel
Light Turret
Medium Turret
Gatling Turret
Improved Weapon Buff
Extra Landmine
(You will be playing engineer always on defense, so good idea to make this your core class.)

Comms Hack (gains usefulness in a 1v1…you’ve got only one enemy, and it can tell you what direction he is coming from.)
Sticky Bomb
Caltrop Grenade
EMP Grenade

That is 19, so you have one more ability to choose.

I know you weren’t asking for a 1v1 build, but thats the only situation in which I would see you needing abilities for all 4 classes.

recently i have been objective running and i have been getting 5 k xp in 3 minutes sooo…

I’m actually working on one right now. With only 20 points you really need to cut every possible corner on the build. This means that only essential skills are even considered. The vast majority of points should be invested into the universal abilities though as these benefit your character regardless of their current class. I was thinking of something like this:

Universal:

 1. Grenade Shooting
 2. Battle Hardened
 3. Supply Max Increase
 4. Combat Intuition
 5. Sprinting Reload
 6. Supply Rate Increase
 7. Silent Running
 8. Downed Fire

Soldier
9. Flashbang Grenade
10. Kevlar Armor
11. Extra Magazine or AP Ammo

Medic
12. Self-Ressurection
13. Improved Health Buff
14. Lazarus Grenade

Engineer
15. Kevlar Armor Buff
16. Improved Weapon Buff
17. Extra Mine

Operative
18. Caltrops
19. Comms Hack or Hack Turret
20. EMP Grenade

Post DLC:
21. Soldier Napalm Grenade
22. Medic Regen Field
23. Engineer Incendiary Mine
24. Operative UAV

Overall there are a few things left to consider but I think that this would be effective enough. If the new skills are lacking then that leaves me with an extra point for that class so things may change slightly.

(Super-Pangolin) #6

If you’re like me and you don’t really care much for Operative, then you might like my main character’s all-rounder kind of build:
Universal: Battle Hardened, Supply Max Increase, Combat Intuition, Sprinting Reload, Sense of Perspective (probably doesn’t help for the challenge at all), Resupply Rate Increase, Silent Running, Downed Fire
Soldier: Flashbang Grenades, Kevlar Vest, Extra Magazine
Medic: Increase Supplies, Improved Increase Supplies, Improved Life Buff, Self-Resurrection, Lazarus Grenade
Engineer: Gear Head, Command Post Upgrade, Improved Weapon Buff, Extra Landmine
Basically just works mostly off the basic buffs provided by the kits, with a little extra something or two here and there.

I built a level 20 “jack of all trades” build.

UNIVERSAL
Battle Hardened
Supply Max Increase
Sprinting Reload
Supply Rate Increase

SOLDIER
Flashbangs
Extra Magazine
Scavenge
Satchel Charge

MEDIC
Increased Supplies
Metabolism
Improved Life Buff
Lazarus Grenade

ENGINEER
Kevlar
Nerves of Steel
Command Post Upgrade
Improved Weapon Buff

Operative
Homing Beacon
Comms Hack
Control Turret
EMP Grenade

(NthLegion) #8

My all-arounder looks like this:

Universal:
health increase
supply increase
combat intuition
sprinting reload
sense of perspective
resupply increase
silent running
downed fire

Soldier:
ap ammo
kevlar
extra mag

Medic:
supply increase
supply increase
self revive

Engineer:
light turret
medium turret
double weapon buff

Operative:
caltrop grenade
hack turret
cortex bomb

I’d suggest a simple S/E build, allowing you to switch between O and D.

I tried a jack-of-all character, but kept losing levels tweaking his abilities, so I binned him and lost the love.

Though this thread has piqued my interest again…Perhaps a S/E/O would be useful? I loathe playing Medic so won’t do…

Perhaps:

Universal - Hardened, Extra Pip, CI, Sprint Load, SoP, Resupply, Silent Running
Soldier - AP Ammo, Gren Master, Kevlar, Extra Mag, 2 x Gren Buff
Engr - Gear Head, L.Turret, M.Turret, Extra Mine
Op - Homing Beacon, Caltrops, Comms hack

New DLC stuff to be added?
Howzat?

Yea, an S/E/O is very useful for pubs. Not necessary for a team where everyone is coordinated. But in a pub on resort, I will set the charge on the pillar, set the charge on the bridge, escort the bot as an engineer, and then hack… Then on defense play as engineer.
