Are people failing to understand the concept? Everything is about ‘risk and reward’. The reward is that you get an instant kill and gib regardless of how much health the enemy player has, the risk is that you’re locked and committed while doing it, leaving you open to get some facebullets. It’s nothing to do with cinematic railroad playing… sheesh guys.
Backgib
I understand the concept and i find it totally bad, because again, the result is a long animation which steals to me the control of my character.
I hate it in Titanfall, I hate it in Battlefield.
(The only game where i found this system correct is in Dishonored, because you have some control during the action :
- Choose to knock or kill.
- Take the body at the end of the action to hide it and don’t make some noise.
But again, it’s for me less good than in Thief 1/2 and Deus Ex 1, where you need to hit by yourself and aim.)
Kill in the back with the knife and gib the player is already available in Dirty Bomb, and when you do this, you are also “open to get some facebullets.”
Except that with the current system, you don’t just don’t start an animation, you need to execute each action by yourself.

Battlefield I can semi-understand but Titanfall you cray cray, the neck snap is almost instant and barely keeps you locked.
I highly doubt you’re ‘purists’, I’m thinking of another word for you and it’s nothing to do with control mechanics
