In what way is 2.60b patch bad? It is a patch with important fixes, makes no sense running older versions, then there is no need to fix things, if the community wont use it. I think maybe thatās why SD dropped the game?
Anyway, it seams you have a lot of members, so updating wouldnāt be any problem, besides both Jaymod and NQ state the mod should run on 2.60b.
No harm to you or the server, just trying to help

It will harm your server. There is still a large chunk of players that never heard about 2.60b ( on my own server I can see from which version they connect and almost 60% comes from 2.55, you will lose these players if you upgrade) . With 2.55+ you donāt have this problem, both the players from 2.60b and 2.55 can play on your server. The 2.60b patch indeed contains some important fixes, but guess what? 2.55+ has the fixes as well but then server side, so that is not a reason to upgrade.

Then what makes sense? I clearly said āI thinkā. And if you have a community with players would not be a problem to upgrade, it is up to you. I think it is the server admins responsibility to encourage players to upgrade. Canāt be that hard.

I donāt care if he upgrades I only say that it would be stupid since you have a bigger audience of players on 2.55+.
And SD didnāt stop supporting the game because a small part of the community didnāt upgradeā¦ commonā¦ tge game is free and they didnāt earn money with it. After the 2.60b patch got released they started working on ET:QW. And of course they would stop updating the game. What you said made no sense.
And trust me not everyone is smart enough to know how to uppgrade to 2.60b. In the past 8 years of playing this game I tried to explain it tonns of times and there are people who simply donāt understand how to do it.

Well, what I said makes sense to me, maybe not for you. You see in this world we live in, all have different perspective of things, in this case you are the opposite of me, doesnāt make either of us wrong or right, simply different thoughts. You donāt speak for the whole community.
Those two lines makes total sense.

It didnāt make sense to me and that was the answer to your question. But I am alright if you want to believe that SD dropped the support for wolfenstein because a part of the players didnāt update. I tend to believe that there are other reasons.

Well, no peace out yet. The reason I said that was because why should a company or mod or whatever, make new versions if the users donāt use them, that was the reason. Sure they dropped since it is a free game or they start on ET:QW. But why drop a game which is so popular and active? Sure the mods do a fine job, but anyway.

Donāt let the conspiracy theorists scare ya Domagojā¦2.55 is perfectly safe and stable now that the 2.55+ server binary exists. Actually it was before but especially now. People are still stick in the last decade.
