I’m gonna start with this : I bought the game on Xbox360 on launch day, stuck through some lag and rare visual glitches till the patch came. After that, it was mostly lag-free and a lot of fun. It does seem lonely when you’re unlucky and litteraly, the most people you can find is a 2 vs 2 on standard. I think that’s partly because of all the negative stuff thats been said and exagerated by people who felt ripped off because it wasn’t what they thought they were gonna get. There’s many problems to the equation, like the devs silence or the hype they created by delaying it for so long and talking so highly about it. I could ramble for a little while here but realistically, it won’t change much. So I stopped caring for these “glaring” problems such as absence of matchmaking or the random spread and just tried to adapt to it. Tried all the classes and their toys, the guns, made some sick ass looking dudes, and I realized this game was actually a lot of fun. I’ll end this ridiculously long introduction/parenthesis by saying that I understand the PC users because this does feel like a console game. With a wsad setup and a mouse, you have an edge while moving and aiming, which must make the brink experience clumsy at best. On console though, when you get used to burst fire at different distances with the AR and spray with the smgs for example, you can definitely become deadly.
Anyways, on to what I was supposed to talk about lol, I was playing brink tonight with wolfnemesis and a few people of this forum. All on one side (7 humans) vs all bots. It was pretty boring at the beginning to tell you the truth but I stuck through and started having an amazing time demolishing them, helped with the teamwork we had going and all the buffs distributed. I’ve been rocking the Euston/Carb9 since the beginning, both are awesome if you can use them at the right time. Here I was, at the end of Shipyard, right beside the alley where they were all gonna come out. My teammates were well into the hack when I popped out to see if they had spawned yet. The whole team is right there, just start unloading my euston in soo many bodies, killing like 2-3 and harming the others. Quick switch to my carb, the blasts to pieces the remaining enemies. I tried to count the bodies cause the kill announcer had too much going on lol, it had to be almost their entire team.
The whole point of this post/thread was to tell you guys an awesome moment I had in brink and shine some light on the darkness of this forum. I’ve been quietly reading a lot of whats been said while “working” and I think if we started thinking positively, coupled with the incoming DLC (and the patch/gun balancing), we could have a shot at reviving it. Its all about being positive - it’d be pretty awesome actually if trolls kept out of this thread. I’m not attacking or insulting or laughing at someone, so please don’t do it to me either
So, what have been your favorite moments in brink?
ps. : I was pretty hgih (read it backwards) while writing this, if that explains anything
