So, since me and some others newcomers were wondering about the avatar change some time ago, now I can confirm that you need to be at least Private on the forum rank to change your avatar.
I’m sure because I’ve tried before levelling up and I couldn’t, then I levelled up to Private, I’ve tried again and the feature was unlocked.
I suggest to make it a sticky post somewhere, so none will get confused again.

Yes, this explains it. Been wondering why I couldn’t change my profile pic. Definitely sticky-material along with the already stickied “how to change your username” imo
