autumn_b2 fix ? anyone ?

(system) #1

Howdy,

i dont want to hijack another topic so i just start a new one.
Maybe some of you know the map autumn_b2. Well anyway, you have to transport a truck wich can be damaged/repaired.
Sometimes both is not possible and i don’t know if someone else ever experienced.

So my questions are:

Does someone every had this problem in this map ?
…and is it fixable ? Maybe the script has an error and Phisherman can fix it :o

(just like a isue macbeth just had in the Coast thread).

I like the map and it would be cool if i could add it in our map list.
Any help or hints apreciated

Greets,
Dutchman.

mhmm, we just played the map without problems so i gotta find out when this error shows up.

There may be excessively long wait states in the start/stop routines. I’d have to read the script block to be sure…

Also - if a game is paused during an excessively long script execution, bad things can happen.

Hi Mortis, thanks for the info ,even i dont have the slightest clue about map scripting.
We played like around 9vs9 today and it still worked.

I really have to check out why this error sometimes occure.

ps. i cannot find the map on the internet anymore, is this a case of a starting “lost maps” thread
(would be cool tbh. )

Sometimes same stuff happens with Goldrush, especially at the second tank barrier

When the tank is at a plot point between the barrier (which has exploded) and the tank has been damaged at the same time.
Then you see the tank just ‘standing’ there, but allied engineers can’t repair it, although the tank has been disabled

yeh, i thought of something similar too.
Just waiting for it to happen will take ages. I doubt its mod-dependent.
So i just thought someone could look at the script who has knowledge but the map cannot be found on the internet.

wonders why, cause its a cool 10vs10map*

After all these years, I never had this problem :P. Didn’t even know it existed :P.

Slowly i blame it on wrong gametype setting in my cycle…

It sucks searching for errors
(especially cause this map does not even exist for google :S )

never experienced what shagileo experienced tho…

yup … i know this problem too … same goes for venice before you gonna blow the truck at the gate … just weird sometimes xD

(shagileo) #10

If I remember correctly, Diego had a similar problem with his Praetoria map(s). (tank that got “blocked” at barrier event)
Maybe he found the solution?

(-SSF-Sage) #11

Same happens to probably every map that uses the stadard scripts.

(macbeth) #12

found a texture missing

(Cambodunum) #13

… nah its a missing model

(system) #14

mhmm, the bug just appeared.
The truck was across the repaired bridge and all of a sudden it (truck) could not be repaired :frowning:

Is there something i should watch when playing it ?
