Auto-taunts

Felt like this should be added to the ever-growing list of ‘small things to add to the game’.

In my opinion, the taunts (of which there are many) are under-utilized because there are simply so many of them. But they add so much character to the mercs, I fell they should be used more.

It can also be a bit awkward how at the end of the game, when that epic that epic music plays (or doesn’t, if you lost) how everyone is dead silent, even though they’ve been throwing witty remarks around the whole game.

I think there should be a system in place where, at the endgame screen, characters voice there joy/opinions automatically. This happens already sometimes at the beginning of execution matches, but it’d be cool to have it in Objective and Stopwatch as well.

If there will be an option to disable them, I don’t mind it. But I personally don’t wanna be spammed by merc voices, since I can’t stand some of them. coughProxycough

at the end of every game i try to activate vassilis 2nd special taunt as late as possible, so you hear him during the scoreboard. and i say YOGHURT in chat when he says it :smiley:

The “Good Game! Good Game!” taunt should be automatically played by the end of the match, I think. Maybe from highest-scoring player merc.

Also “Go!” command should be also played automatically during start of the match, along with “Destroy/Defend the EV/Objective!” or some sort

I really wish Redeye’s V-6-2 taunt could be played to all and not just your team. :frowning:

If we’re talking about a merc or two automatically playing their taunt at the end-game score screen to comment on the match (based on that player’s performance maybe?) I’d be completely supportive of that. What if every player got the chance to choose their “end-game” taunt for every merc and if you were top of the scoreboard for your team, your merc plays that taunt. I’d be totally down for that.

I don’t think i could handle that…very few games i’m in are actually “good games” and it already triggers me so much when one team is stomping the other and they say gg at the end…

Any game I join isn’t a good game for the other team because I’m always stomping.

Some of us can’t help it if we like to KAWWWAAAAAAIIIII IN YOUR FACE or in my case… SPLOOSH IN YOUR FACE! :wink:

This one is really annoying when spammed.

I like the idea of mercs speaking by themselves. I think it already happens every once in a while. I remember killing some one with Fragger and my Kira team mate said “Nice shot” to which my Fragger replied “Thanks” without any action from me. I liked it.

Honestly, with the amount of merc quotes (which are dozen of minutes long, according to youtube clips) they should utilize them better, by making mercs say random quotes during fights or kill streaks, much like in TF2.

@Herr_Hanz If I’m right, Special taunt number 2 is ‘One shot, One kill!’

I always use that whenever I start my game with Vas.

@sweetColumn It’s actually V-5-7’s Aww Yeah!! coming out, so um… not… really tauntung someone directly, but is simple interjection enough to taunt people? I don’t know.

I usually time myself to say the longest quote I have right as the game ends so it plays into the menu.

"I have built a SHRINE to you in my room… nah, not really…

At the end of the game when mercs still move around, should have the longest, sarcastic and anything but apologetic “Sorry” auto-taunt of the winning teams top-scoring merc whenever someone from either of the team mentions “balance” in chat.

Needs to be limited though i dont want the end of game to sound like some one hit play on 16 mp3 files at one time

tl;dr all posts but Ops…totally agree. I would be happy to see mercs yelling in battle just like the soldiers in any Battlefield game…adds immersion .
