So… the shuffle system. It isn’t the… best, but it works. But, people on the Internet are A-holes and we all know that. So when I join a game that has 7 PEOPLE on the other team full of decently-high leveled people, and on the team I was joining had 2 people on the team, both level 9. I saw a high-leveler (like level 19) but then I saw that their was an X on the face symbol so that meant it was a 2V7 FOR AN AMOUNT OF TIME. How does that happen?! How is that “acceptable”?! And the first thing the level 19 said when he joined he said “What am I joining?”. That shouldn’t be a thing. I played in that match for about 35 seconds and then quit. I was, of course, on attack and we were spawn trapped by Rhinos and Phantoms.
So my question is: Why is there no auto shuffle system? The only real way to shuffle it if it is unbalanced is for the players to call the vote reshuffle. I understand that, because the computer can’t always predict that stuff. But when there is a large amount of people on one team, and then a small amount of people on the other team SHUFFLE THE DAMN TEAMS PEOPLE! Of course, people are greedy jerks so we say “nah” and then people just start to lose faith in humanity. So, we need an auto shuffle system that will shuffle the teams so that way the game is FORCED to be fair. Not, “well if the players don’t want to shuffle the teams, then there is nothing we can do about it” BULLCRAP! This has gone on for too long, every single player knows this game has trouble balancing the teams and my own running joke (which I guess is just a little inside joke to make myself chuckle… yes I do live a sad and lonely life) is that when people say “Man look at this balance” sarcastically I say “Dirty Bomb doesn’t know what that is.” And I’m usually only half wrong.
TL;DR: AUTOSHUFFLE! WE NEED IT!
Auto Shuffle! Where is it?
I’m not sure Auto shuffle is thing we need.
Chances are (which I’ve seen a lot to happen) the team you joined were losing. There are a lot of leavers when they oppose a better player/team.
It wouldn’t be fair with the winning teams members to instantly put into the losing team before the match ends… resulting in a Loss for him/her when he/she might worked his/her ass off to win.
Balance is needed yes. But auto shuffle in the middle of the game? I’m not fancy about that.
I’ve been several times in the same situation what you described. I just swallowed the loss. It’s not the enemies fault my team couldnt handle better players from the enemy and they left me to lose.
About the “high lvl”. Their only advantage is knowledge. That can be outdone with better accuracy. Also, playing against experienced players does help you to improve.
I have joined on games where it’s 2v7 or 3v7, the game doesn’t do any kind of autobalance. If it’s before the 1st objective and the game falls to some insane ratio like 2v7 or 3v7 the game should shuffle the teams and just restart the map. It’s ridiculous.
I do kind of wonder what happens if an entire team rage quits but I have never seen it. If I join on a 2v7 and make it a 3v7, i’m not sticking around to “see what happens” or to “be a good sport”. I’m leaving because it’s a waste of time.
I can tell you from my experience. We were dominating a team so hard they all left. We were defending… We had to wait till the timer expires without any enemy to shoot at. That 11 minutes was interesting.
Back to topic. A punishment for leaving a match would solve a lot of things.
You have the ability to restart the map and reshuffle teams, but it requires a majority vote and…well that almost never ends well.
Imo shuffle after the five first minute of the game is unacceptable, same for shuffle in second half of stopwatch, if teams are unfair it must be done at the beginning too many times i saw team thinking they were gonna win i, stopwatch because they successed at defense a bit but then they get rekt on attack because they cant even plant once and then they try to shuffle saying its unfair stomping. No! Shuffle in the first five minute or dont.

Have you ever heard the saying ¨knowledge is power¨?
Well now you have. And it couldn’t be more true.
You can’t just beat someone with just aim or reflexes alone, you need to know how to go about the situation you’re in.
Example: You see a sniper out in the distance covering an objective you need to get to. You need to kill the sniper before going about completing the objective.
The newbie: As the inexperienced newbie you are, you quickly peek from behind a wall and start to shoot at the sniper with your assault rifle, the sniper notices you shooting at him and starts moving his crosshair towards your location.
You notice the sniper looking at you, so you go back behind cover again and wait for a couple of seconds until you peek again. The moment you peeked the corner, the sniper puts a bullet in your guts and you now lie down on the ground slowly bleeding out.
The veteran: You waste no time peeking the corner, and instead start running back and away from the objective to a hidden tunnel passageway that leads to the building the sniper is in.
Upon entering the building you carefully sneak up to the sniper and kill him with your knife.
You then proceed to go on with the objective and reviving the newbie.
This is of course just an example so take it with a grain of salt, but you get the idea.
Experienced players are good at a game because they know the maps, the mercs, the guns etc. etc.
So naturally, mixing them up with newbies, who might not even know how to repair an objective, is not a good idea and makes the veterans annoyed at their teammates for doing stupid mistakes and the newbies get annoyed(or even angry) because they have to fight players who are 5 times better at the game than they are.
And so, this is why i believe Dirty bomb need an autoshuffle feature and levelbrackets.
Or at least some sort of balancing system.
Now about that ¨playing against experienced players helps you improve¨…
Do you really believe, that the average joe can become a better player when he’s getting spawn-massacred by said experienced players? no.
He quits the game.
Because he is getting spawn-massacred by better players.
If anything, i find playing with an experienced player helps you improve alot more than playing against one.
At least in the case of Dirty bomb ATM.

That is definitely mostly true though. A green isn’t going to learn much from me cutting them down while on a Kira rampage. Practice and watching teammates are the biggest learning possibilities while playing.

Well i was just trying to come up with an example, and i couldn’t really come up with a better one.
I usually try and switch teams if its unbalanced, unless I finally get on the same team as a friend. I’m torn by that point in what to do as it feels like the planets have to align in order to get on the same team, and I don’t want to ditch my friend either.
I’ll vote yes on a shuffle though. If I get on the opposite team than my friend at least it looks like it was out of my hands. Just don’t vote a shuffle when there is either no time left, or the last objective is about to be capped… that pisses me off.
A team auto balance feature should be put in but only for the situations where the other team is down 2 or more players, otherwise shuffling should only be done by votes.
We don’t need an auto shuffle. We need an incentive to vote to shuffle if needed. If they were to increase the credits per minute gained people would want longer matches and therefore call for team balances
I like that idea but I still think that a lot of people wouldn’t consider it if it meant they would get less kills and less XP as a result.
It’s hard to convince people that kills aren’t everything. Most people have played MP FPS with the goal of getting a good K/D rate. Now they need to play the objective and some of them are not willing to do so…
That’s my experience. Yesterday there was a match that I played where the enemy team had 2 vassilis, 2 Rhinos on offense at Chapel. They had no medic.
Result => My team destroyed them completely. Was it balanced you might ask. Yes, in fact the high lvl players were on the enemy team.
It shows that if you’re not playing as a team and only think about K/D you will lose the game. But apparently that’s not that bad for some people as long as they have a positive K/D…
It will take some time for those kind of people to learn that the game is about objectives and not kills.
