Hi there,
As a non “uber pro 1337 omgwtf” player I would like to see one server with auto shuffle at the end of each maps, it is less obvious now but with the autojoin system and the non intuitive switch between teams I find that the teams are often stacked as hell, and even if gettin rolled get you better etc etc (this is usually heard from people in a good team or who never really had hard time playing because they were good from the start, funny isnt it?) I would like to enjoy a bit more the maps.
I dont know, don’t take that as a mindless rant as I’m usually not really “mad” when I lose and I love the challenge, but sometimes a decent match with equal teams (I’m not talking bout comp obviously) can bring more fun than a rollercoaster where you dont even have the time to take positions or adapt because you get shot from 3 directions everytime you get out of your spawn.
I think auto shuffle (only for obj servers) can do the trick.
Reminder : I’m talking about the alpha stage only here, and only for objective servers, I’m here to test the game (aka “play the damn game and give your impressions”) and so far many times my impressions are : “god dammit I dont even have the time to concentrate on the feeling and the input I receive from the game because the teams are so unba we cant set a proper defence”, or attack for that matters. I cant tell which map are too biased because of the inherent bias of the teams, I cant really tell if the guns are too strong or not because with unba team its not 1V1 but usually 3V1, and I think that reducing the variability in the skill difference by autoshuffle (the more you sample, the lesser the variance, math 101) can help improving some feedbacks in alpha stage.
If it’s not implemented I wont suddenly roll over and sob and will still play the best I can (which is really close to the absolute zero), but I think it can be a great asset for testing purposes.
Your thought? (the “learn to play” guys can indeed gtfo, the others can discuss)
I can tell (with an accuracy of 95%) which team will win the game at the beginning of the map… The thing is, swapping team is so counter intuitive that balancing can be a pain in teh a**, a shuffle will ensure that on the long run, most games havent been super stacked, indeed as it is random you’ll still have super duper stacked games, but on the long run the mean “teamskill” difference might be reduced, you can also weigh the shuffle by the KDR or XP of the previous round, but that bring some other flaws.
