Auto Cyclical Burst Rifles

I’d like to propose that burst rifles become auto cyclical, in other words, you hold the trigger, and the bursts happen automatically.

Why propose this? Burst rifles are incredibly hard to use for people like me that have nerve damage, along with other issues, it just messes with people’s coordination, making it really, really tough to use properly if they have issues like I do. Obviously, a nerf is warranted already, like lowering the fire rate and damage. However, this would make it possible to use effectively, easier, for everyone

This would be helpful with the Semi auto pistols as well, because it can get really tiring to click that button so many times, so fast.

However instead of firing at full auto speed with pistols, it will fire with short delays (if i remember right, counter strike has this kind of system, but it did not work with all pistols.)

Interesting idea.
TF2 has this system with any weapon (even grenade launchers) and it works well. I think Paladins also has this, but I’m not sure - only played like 50 hours before uninstalled.

Don’t know how it would effect DB - in long ranges it would be totally useless, you fire in bursts even with full auto weapons.

In close range it maximizes the DPS at the cost of more control. Being unpredictable is key in close range 1v1 fights. For example against shotgun users I can change direction while strafing just before they are ready to fire, making them miss. (if they missed the first shot and didn’t 1hit me, of course)

Another thing is spread increase with continuous fire. On mid range I wait a little more than the burst delay for the spread to reset, that would be impossible to do with automated burts.

I think I would only use that feature on light pistols if that is possible. My fear is that an army of noobs will start using burst/semi auto weapons (especially the Dreiss) which would lead to much complaining and in the end nerfing those weapons.

id like to time my burst thank you

also, holding the fire button for burst will make it a bit unpredictable for you since you cant really expect enemies to abide to your thoughts of where they should go

As if burst rifles didn’t already need a nerf xD

I just want the option, despite it being mildly counter productive (event though you can manually burst) for my hand. It just makes life a little harder when you have a bad hand. TF2 has a great system, where I can hold the button in order to not worry too much about my hand. Although lets face it, in what world does a Spy main ever have to hold down the fire button xP

im sorry about OP’s situation, but that is not a reason to change the game.

Especially when OP could realistically get a macro to do the shooting for him (with a ban exemption from SD)

Burst rifles become really inaccurate if you max out their burst rate. This would only hurt players imo. Better off using full auto weapons even if this was implemented.

Maybe create a macro that does it for you? Probably bannable, but you could always use one that chooses a rate between two variables dynamically (pls no bannerino)

Also, if your nerve damage is just in one hand, you could always bind firing to a key for your other hand, ctrl for example and doesn’t hinder any movement keys.
