Attention Dirty Bomb players,

The following changes were made during the August 10th Hotfix Maintenance:

  • Fixed an Exploit that allowed players to rapidly gain XP with Aura’s Healing Station.
  • Fixed an Exploit that allowed players to illegitimately warp to custom locations.
  • Fixed an Exploit that allowed players to alter their strafe speed.
  • Additional fixes for some other exploits have been applied.

No idea but I swear I lost a duel to a Fragger that seemed way too fast, could barely track them. This makes a lot of sense now.

Nice to see the exploits are being removed, the EV one was so cheap.

Well, in one game… I swear that my Skyhammer ran as slowly as a rhino.

Thus, the exploit might have been triggered by spectating, and switching the view to other characters, and then respawning. Hence making the game think your character moves either faster or slower. But this is pure speculation…

They didn’t do anything to hacks/cheaters.

They only “fixed” exploits which still work according to people.

Yeah, on the steam discussion page, apparently the ev glitches still work. I’m not really sure what they actually did, if anything. Pretty pathetic.

Nowhere in the patch notes did it say that every hack/hacker that currently exists or ever will exist has been banned.

Also, while one of the exploits is still possible, two others were confirmed as fixed.

In particular:

Fixed an Exploit that allowed players to illegitimately warp to custom locations.
Fixed an Exploit that allowed players to alter their strafe speed.

Now, I suppose it is your opinion if you think that isn’t anything.

Just logged in, got into a pub stopwatch, and bam. Someone was cheating, and openly admitted it. Clearly this hotfix did barely anything.

Anyone else come across more cheaters tonight?

Sadly I can’t comment on these, as I have never come across them before. Does anyone have a video, I would love to watch these, they sound potentially hilarious.

At least it seems EV has to be moving now to perform XP bug, so it can’t be abused to the hilariously horrifying extends of multiple hundreds of thousands of XP some peeps have achieved. Hotfix is a fastfix, nice to see they react asap even if it doesn’t work 100%.
