A fellow staff member recently posted this story on enemy-territory.com, a website that I work on. I have no idea where the story came from but I am curious if anyone else has heard of this (especially the developers).
To me it sounds like a scam because they talk about “funding”. Since when do fan mod makers get money for their mods. I could be wrong but I would love confirmation on this story. Thanks!

Was the source code given out to them or are they just blowing hot air?
