Attakers & defenders Battleting for 1st objective

I was thinking that would add a nice variety if:
attackers and defenders would on 1 map figthing to activate a 1st objective.

if defenders win this thing ,the result to attackers will be opening a new path harder or longer for them to go to final objective

would be a priority one for attackers to win this first objective

This sounds very interesting. Map that essentially changes dependent on previous performances of the teams

Nice, I just proposed in another thread domination capture of forward spawn points or advanced command points. Would that fit what you had in mind ?

Good idea, but not as the first objective, people are still loading in, getting back from trip to beer fridge etc.

As the penultimate would make more sense.

And maybe not the last objective, but for example why not use as second objective so the teams fight to hack controls to unlock an EV, then the last objective depends on which team won the EV ? OFC this would require some further researches and experiments for the StopWatch mode …

This is a very nice idea +1 for this.

After this an diea came to my mind: The team that wins the 1st objective becomes the attacker the rest of the map :D?

maybe not the attacker, but the final objective changes depending on the team winning the duel objective. Huh … “Duel Objective” … has a nice sound to it no ? xD

This could be the start of evolving scenarii for objectives, based on victories and defeats. Could be sweet

That could be a work around for white Chaptel haters …and could let sd leave this map as it is and adding an alternative route
By doing a battle for a switch… and attaker will etheir have the chaptel route :confused: or another more pleasant route :slight_smile: if they win or lose that battle :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it would be a nice idea, but think as a mapdesigner, you want to have all parts of your maps populated at some point and by appropriate reason. Imo it would already be a huge improvement if the attacking team unlocks two paths (if they exist, atm none of the maps have such two paths, like e.g. W:ET radar) to the objective, in this case, the longer route and the shorter one. Would add a bit more to ‘freedom’.

P.S. i am slowly overusing that term ‘freedom’. Freedom of maps, freedom of movement, freedom of gamedesign, freedom of concepts … :rolleyes:

Nah, not so fast.
Imagine a weaker team struggling for this first objective and they can’t get it done, so it will get even more difficult to do the next?
One example: If the first objective is very difficult they might do it in let’s say 18mins from 20mins map time. So they can still do the last objectives in 2mins.
But if they can’t get the first one done within a certain time, they can’t finish the map at all. Because the ways are longer or harder for the next objectives.

this does not seem to make much sense.

I’d like to see some more variably gameplay, but I dont think the idea stated above wont bring us more fun, but more rage^^

I’d prefer Forward spawns or side objectives. Lets hope for those playing a bigger role in future maps.

there always a way to balance this .SD+Echo=will get it right

also this battle for the switch could be at any point in game…could be last objective battle or a short cut at objective 3 or what ever they want to put it
