I thought about what was unique in ETQW and some other games like l4d, starcraft, that were very fun to play and to watch.
It was balance of the different asymmetric sides.
Strogg had shields, stroyent refill of health or ammo, spawn-hosts, and different vehicles
GDF had health and ammo boxes, and also different vehicles.
Can we try to do similar thing in DirtyBomb?
Some mercs are on one side, and some mercs are on the other?
Maybe not like in ETQW - where Stroggs always attacked on Arc, and defended on the Valley.
Some logical thought on this:
- defenders get more defensive mercs. More engies, if the maps need engies (a lot of c4 defuses etc). Medics - more Aura and Sawbonez, less Phoenix (he seems more like an attacking kind of medic)
- attackers get more offensive mercs.
