Good. Very good. As long as ‘combat superiority’ is honoured as a role exclusive for the assault.
both assault chars have mg’s as primary; i wonder if there will be another type or long/ short range assault weapons(chars). we just know that the next one will get some minigun^^
or is assault meant to be an allrounder all the way?
Ooh I misinterpreted the question. I thought it was about exclusivity to class, not the only thing the Assault guys could ever have.
There are many ways in which the assault class should be able to decide combat:
) or MG’s with snare abilitiesBut I wouldn’t mind seeing light assault classes either. A light guy with a shotgun or one that only has a handgun and an unlimited supply of grenades could be fun as well.

“unlimited supply of grenades” - made me die a little inside.
Boring! It’s not enough a development from what we currently have. The shotgun/rifle swap is not enough of a set back to justify for an interesting amount of frags.
Instead take away the MG, maybe even the shotgun and give the dude a higher frequency to throw grenades. The grenades could also be lowered in damage, increased in radius and add a push-back effect. If he then throws several grenades at once then players can be juggled to death.
I want incendiary white phosphorus cluster grenades that burst into searing hot bouncing particles that completely sterilise an entire room if people don’t bail out fast enough.
Fixed fuse. Can’t cook it. Large and brightly flashing cannister. Everything about it focused to give everyone a warning and make them leave an area or burn to a crisp.

In order to let this ability not encroach on the drone strike the bouncing should be tweaked.
The cluster bomb needs to be the most dangerous indoors otherwise you steal all the thunder from the fire support:
Without getting into a mathematical formula, the distance a cluster travel should be extended based on how fast it bounces. So if the cluster hits a wall or object or player straight after detonation then it gets a life-time extension and momentum increase (against all physics I know).
This means that if applied in a closed space, the clusters really fly everywhere and last longer, but if applied in an open area, the clusters will fizzle out fast because they get less collisions to extend their lifetime with. This neatly keeps this utility away from the artillery and drone strikes which can only be applied outside.
Ehm, why would you need that if there’s only one nade anyways for all except soldier?
