Ask a Cobalt Medic anything :)

(Zack) #1

As the title says I main Sparks and I believe that I have a really great grasp of all of the ins and outs of sparks gameplay. I can also answer questions about other mercs or anything else you may have for me. Please feel free to ask away I’ll be reading and replying to any and all questions.

What is your favorite shampoo scent?

Why Sparks and not Saw or Aura?

Yeah I’ve been playing FPS games since I was like 15ish started in Call of Duty 4 played CAL/CEVO at pretty high levels.

Well when I first started playing medic I originally played Saw and he’s beyond useful being a little bit tankier but I found it difficult being able to revive someone quickly and getting them to 80% health because when you play vs good players they gib your fragger/teammates fairly quickly. Plus they nerfed the crotzni and made it pretty awful. As for Aura I do play her on very rare occasions depending on the map on bridge she’s quite stellar on attack/defense sides due to the fact that her healing station sits in the back corner while you either defend the EV or repair the EV, so she’s just really a good situational merc. I’d say her best map in my opinion is probably on underground on attack or defense only on the first part though inside of the bomb room.

I just bought Sparks, but seems there is really only one viable Loadout. Still I’m curious if the ability to frag less will impact my game as much. I highly doubt I can get 60 kills with Sparks. If my team play together, objectives and all, being a true medic for Health / Revive, is fine though, I don’t mind being support.

(Zack) #9

Yeah your goal isn’t to get kills at all your main objective is to revive your team and to make sure their topped off on health. Kills come secondary. It’s one of those double-edged swords your fraggers/skyhammers can’t get a plethora of kills without a good medic, so being a solid medic is crucial if you do your job and they do theirs then you’ll do nothing but win.

(Phukka) #10

I think we play a different game. I generally play with people who get 10-15, miracle if it’s 20 kills. So without going nuts and killing, we lose badly. Even Comp, you play with and against truly terrible players.

(Zack) #11

We might I mean honestly I’ve been getting a whole bunch of games vs silver players which is quite frustrating lol, but then again I usually play with 1-3 members of my team.

(Phukka) #12

Not impressed at the moment. I feel there are more maps & situations where long-revive is not necessary. To often I need to frag, not offensively, but generally, and Sparks weapon is so weak, despite it being easy to HS with. With Sawbones I can kill 2 or 3 without that much hassle (depends on Merc obv. and opponents skill). With Sparks, it’s so much harder. Dead medic is pretty worthless. So, damm you Zack!

EDIT: Oh, I tried being support, hide and jump in to revive / heal. You rely on terrible players to kill and they are, well, TERRIBLE! Plus, maps / gameplay is so tight / fast that you tend to have people in your face all over, even if you support at the back.

People say that when you have Bronze, you don’t need any of the higher cards such as silver and gold. Is this true?

(Zack) #14

Yes it’s true after bronze the only thing that changes is what the gun looks like. The perks are all the same throughout the loadouts. Silver,Gold,Cobalt are only cosmetic.

From the scale of 1/10 how much would u give Phoenix.

(TheOrangePhantome) #16

From the scale of 1/10 how much would you rate Phoenix?

Cuz TBH i rly wanted Stoker to be released but ohhh well. But from all the gameplay of him i’ve seen he seems like a pretty cool aggressive combat medic.

(Zack) #17

Oh I would say Phoenix is beyond good for a multitude of tasks. He’s really mostly viable due to the fact that he has the kek most top level players will agree that the kek is without a doubt the best gun in the game.

(Samniss_Arandeen) #18

If you could design and implement another Medic merc to add to the game, what Abilities, speed, health, weapons, etcetera would xe bring to the table?

(Zack) #19

I would have to say the merc’s abilities would have to be long range revive not with the revive gun per say but something that adds that ability to the game because most medics with the defib which is literally every single one they force you to be on top of your team. I think the revive gun really adds a unique element to the game because it really changes up how a team can play certain maps. Linear maps with straight long alleys/roads/bridges are literally made for sparks in my opinion, so adding another merc that will bring that ability to the table is exactly what I would do. It doesn’t’t necessarily have to be the revive gun per say but something that just gives another medic a chance to sort of bring a new side to the game. As for guns I think it should be the kek maybe not because the kek is probably way too strong right now. I would like for the medic to not be as squishy as sparks at 80 HP but not as beefy as combat medics such as 110HP like sawbonez.

(TheOrangePhantome) #20

@Zack Maybe the rev gun could be a rev nade?
