Asian Xbox 360 version issues

(necrome) #1

Hi Splash Damage reps and devs, I’ve been a huge fan of your games thus far and got Brink for 3 days. It’s a good game but I have managed to see only a total of 3 human players in about 10 hours of play time, with all my games open to the public. Can you please look into the issue? Thanks =)

Maybe there aren’t enough people that bought it yet in your geographic region?

Hey advocacy, that was what I thought too in the first 2 days, but as far as I know, Singapore’s gaming community is pretty fast at picking up new games and of a substantial size.

Whenever a new game comes out, it’s no problem to find a few full games the first 2 days (in my gaming experience). On gamefaqs, a gamer in Australia was posting about the same problems I face, hurts to play a multiplayer-centric game without multiple players =(

I want to add a related comment here.

We have four copies of the Asian 360 version, but none of us noticed a Day One Update download. There is no indication of the file on the 360, nor did we notice one being downloaded when we first started the machine. I heard it was very small, and I am proud of my fast connection, but my North American friends tell me they all had to download an update. We never did.

Is there any way that we can confirm whether we are playing with or without the release update? (As for the second update announced today - we can confirm that we have that because “Big Teams” shows up in our menus.

Was the Day One patch a NETVARS patch, or was it more? If it was NETVARS then I don’t expect it to show up, if more, then we should have had at least a notification when we started the game for the first time.

(The Japanese version - we have a Japanese IP address - won’t be released until the 26th and I thought maybe that release date update, if more than just NETVARS, was not prepped for the J-market yet.)

3Suns, that was what I was asking an Australian friend today as well. I never received ANY updates that required me to trigger a download (Singapore NTSC/J). But I did see the ‘Big Team’ game type that was supposed to be in the new patch. Still not seeing any human players though, in all game types.

If you’re in the Asia region, feel free to add my gamertag for some matches with friends cause we definitely can use that.

Gamertag: Necrome

Gotcha! Mine is ESuns. I don’t play much on weekdays, but will send out a FR right away.

And let’s see what happens on the 26th, whether or not there is a noticeable file download (Japan release).

They only released a day one update file. The one on friday was done without a patch.

Edit: Woops should read properly. So you didn’t even get a day one update?

(necrome) #8

Yup Pandajenkins, no day-one update for us =(

There will propably more players on 16th the official Asia release date.

So I take it, this means players in Asia can’t play with people in the US or EU? That’s really disappointing. I can play BF:BC2 with anyone from where I am in Japan. I heard the Japanese version of Brink will be completely closed off from outer connections.

if you have the Big Teams option, you have the update, afaik, non-title updates are less than 4mb so you may not notice the download
